Also, I don’t understand the way anti-c’s seem to approach the topic. A lot of them seem to be in support of current laws and their enforcement (and prisons in general) and seem to still think there’s a Special Bad Group of People they can just lock away and then sexual assault on youth or nonhumans will stop happening. No. There will always be age gap relationships of all flavors. Youth will generally always want to learn and be curious. Theriform animals are always having sex and there will always be humans* having sex with them. The very minimum should be approaching it as harm reduction even if you don’t necessarily think it should happen.

Checking a nonhuman’s physical and mental wellbeing and that their handler is interacting safely will always be better than ripping an untraumatized nonhuman from their person.

Giving youth multiple and diverse outlets of people to discuss any relationship (of any kind!) they are in to be sure they are consenting and safe and happy will always be better than ripping them away from somebody they love and care about

Minors are currently treated as 2nd class citizens

They are refused bodily autonomy and rights under the same excuse of "they're not smart enough" "they don't know what they are doing" "they're biologically not as smart as adults" as women and black people were.

They are refused access to things and are shunned from places and segregated from adults

It gets so bad that even adults who are from different generations are perpetuating the divide between eachother when we're all supposed to be a community

It makes me so upset that even this community often discriminates against minors

I think minors should be able to vote, to be able to make decisions for themselves, to be told what's going on, not just "oh they're not old enough for that"

A lot of issues that come from minors being allowed into adult spaces is purely fucking social and if there was no shame or "they shouldn't know this" "they shouldn't see this" attached to it and they were actually fucking told and treated like fucking people it would not be a god fucking damn issue
