Ten years ago I gave myself the challenge of watching 52 films in 52 weeks. I called it, "If you want to direct, watch things." My goal was to learn what I liked, why, and to encourage myself to write.

I exceeded my objective and ended my year with 150 films. I learned a little more about myself and what I could accomplish.

Over the years, I have lost motivation for my personal wellbeing. I've been overworked, stressed, depressed, unable to focus - but I'm feeling better now.

So, now I want to do it again. I want to push myself, challenge myself... because I can, because I'm up to it.

Back in February I challenged myself to watch 150 films/TV shows this year. I have fallen way behind though. Since it's Pride month, I've decided to watch all the LGBTQ+ movies to help me catch up. (I'm aiming to watch at least 12.)

Send me recommendations. Please.

For me, when Hannibal smells Freddie Lounds on Will Graham and realizes he’s been duped, the heartbreak of that is one thing. You see him sort of go quiet and interior after he gets a whiff of Freddie, and then that dinner scene afterward, where he essentially is telling Will, his best friend in the world that he has ever had, “I will forgive you if you come clean right now. All will be forgiven.” And Will doesn’t take it. Will continues to move forward with his betrayal, and it’s a very quiet, solemn, sad scene for me, watching Hannibal. And I did empathize with him, because regardless of what he’s done as a monster, we all relate to the intensity of a friendship that feels so unique, and when that falls apart, it is heartbreaking. Because that someone who once had the ability to understand you and accept you was all a falsehood is devastating. So I felt like we were doing our jobs and making it feel appropriately impactful for Hannibal to suffer this loss.

I'm rewatching Hannibal and this whole episode is so good. I mean, they all are. But this one, where Hannibal is so clearly hurt and sad and angry is exceptionally good. You really can't help but feel for him.
