The Feminine Child by Camille Moran, featured in the pages of the FTM International Newsletter #30 in 1995
Moran is an artist and poet, whose works often confront her experience as a survivor of institutionalization. She’s written foundational criticism of and worked as an activist against the psychiatric institution and it’s involvement with the lives and medicine of transgenderal people, including fighting for the removal of Gender Identity Disorder from the DSM.
An Update
I've made it through a year of being back in college. I'm now working with kids ver the summer. I've wanted to reflect how my life has changed since I first began this journey and what I've learned about myself.
My life is pretty similar. Overall there are just more people around more often. Though my routine have gotten better.
What I have found is that I have very strong opinions about almost everything. I think what I've found hardest and continue to learn through life is that living into the ideals you speak to is much harder. You face many obstacles, others that would like to dissolve your value sets to make them more palatable and a load of walls within the system. But that makes working toward my goals all the more meaningful and searching my soul and heart for answer all the more desireable.
I've also learned that I value friendship and relationship as those willing to work through hard emotional labor, listen and respectfully embarazo on difficult discourse. Life isn't easy, we are all learning. This isn't to say I don't like the lighter times. However, a moment of engaging uncomfortability is where I find my relationships most fruitful.
It's is also with coming back to school that I realize my thoughts and ideas are often inteslnse. Which means I am always open for deep conversation and deep thought about how to change our relationship with the world around us. I find it exhausting to consistently engage in view of how every system is ineffective but also how us as individual friends can truly support each other in the work of changing the world. I think my ego can be hurt when my effort go unnoticed. And I can be hurt emotionally that my needs are not yet supported. But maybe that is for another reality I must build in another dream and put forth in tomorrow work.
Cycles
Don’t let me ever be satisfied
An exciting life
My excitement
To create
Perhaps
Give and Receive
and the knowledge to be in tune with that
Always in flow
Let me never be satisfied
Let us start by healing ourselves
Let us build a fire on the full moon
Let us smudge the pain away
Let us remember who we are at our roots.

Remember the names of the people who represent you; that believe women should not be protected from domestic violence, do not deserve housing assistance, or protection from gun violence. Remember we can vote many of these names OUT OF OFFICE next November.
Remember to register to vote. Remember to vote. Remember to tell your friends to do the same. Remember we can NEVER be silent!
Today a new day dawned,
I did not miss the sun.
I watched as it rolled through the sky.
Tonight the moon will hide its face
Most will hear riddles in response,
We will forget who we are.
I am here now. That is all I know.
Perhaps. That is all I need.
Wants:
1) 9 day week
2) Spiritual Evolution
3) A break from technology

Moon Today
Must every quest have some astronomical Outcome?
When an arrow is pointed at its target what does the shooter gain if they hit their mark?
If they miss?
If it's just competition between fellow man then perhaps I don't want it.
If instead it is to reclaim Spirit, give me my bow and arrow today.
This is What Artemis would share with me.
*a single dead hare, as a gift*
Nyctophylia
A disappearing act.
That was it.
To hide from the world and creep over it in silent domination.
I then huddle myself into your grasp.
The cool touch enlightens my dreams of extrasensory imagination.
Secrets, whispered, pass from my lips into the depths before dissipating into nothing.
Safety is found before death enters.
The lights come to play and dance,
To shine their lights on the lonely world eclipsed by a shadow, hidden.
Songs are sung of this different world,
One of creatures that prowl and search as they would unlike in the day.
Shadows play the tricks of villains and heroes.
To disappear like that and only reappear in desperate neediness.
Yearning or contentment is held unknowingly, convinced of yourself as definite good.
