TV Anon and Hand Anon! I headcanon that the antennas on the TV are like cat ears that emote their emotions and Hand Anon just seems like the kind of person who has snake eye piercing.
OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING UHG6F5DRTCYVGUHBIJOKJIHTYUFR- let me be honest I love the designs for these anons and it's genuinely funny how so chill the hand anon is (the poor anon with the parasite on them needs desperate help-) -mod lem
Didn't expect to see you become active right before I get ready to go to school, but it certainly made my day. Glad to see you're still around, love^^ - ♠️❤️
Yeah, I was going to be more active earlier last year but I lost all my story notes when a typhoon hit my area. I'm fine tho! Have a happy day at school! :D
Rune's shoulders rise and fall as they release a nonexistent sigh. Just around the corner, they can hear the Mother Red's children's shenanigans in the Mansion's living room. Rune's body tingles and twitches, the desire to join strong but so is Ruth's demands to stay put, deeming it unnecessary.
Rune's shoulders rise and fall again as they silently float through Mannion's (the Mansion's nickname that Rune proudly thought of) corridors, occasionally brushing their fingerless hands against the curtains and walls. Before they left, Rune presses themselves against the walls with their arms spread out. The (silly) action of hugging a wall makes Rune smile as they listen to Ruth let out a (mocking) chuckle before they leave that afternoon.
They don't really know where they're going as they let Ruth drag them deeper into the forest, at some point spacing out in their own head, a familiar and comforting feeling that's very similar to drifting aimlessly in the void that they once called home. Rune flinches back into reality when they find themselves in a dark area of the woods.
The warnings and precautions that Mother Red told them about the forest echoes in their head, which is then quickly silenced when they see an orange cat being puppeteered by a mass of vines, thorns digging into the animal’s flesh. Rune's eyes are forced open by Ruth (but not just for the purpose to see).
Rune bends down to pet the most probably dead cat. They look up at the twisting branches and instead of running, they instead hug the lowered branches. Then they're suddenly at back at a more well-lit part of the forest, eyes now closed as Rune spins around in confusion.
The welcoming sight of Mannion in the distance dispels that confusion as they happily float over to their home with the knowledge of love language in their head (that they don't remember learning of) and ideas as to make them happy.
Ruth sits at the very back of Rune's mind as they replayed the memories they have locked away, waiting for Rune to inevitably call upon them one more, granting them the ghostly form of an orange cat to assist them and reassure them that their actions are well appreciated in this game of house. Don't get it wrong, it loves that Rune has found another family unit, but the fact that gods are a part of it? Now that won't do.
"A bystander to tragedies, a witness to miracles, a background character to the narrative. That is what Rune is. Rune does not wish to be, but Ruth enforces it. The consequences from before were too great not to enforce it."
@red1sg0n3
Here's Rune! :D, or at least their primary form.
Their "forms" are not that much different anatomy wise, more so an outfit and color change with little hints of behavioral change. Other entities say that this is a form of "shifting", where one can have an array of identities that are not separate from each other, but rather expressions of the same person. It is possible for them to take on an entirely different anatomy, but they prefer not to, and certain extra limbs are prohibited by Ruth.
I'll draw those other forms at another point in time. =w=;
If you wanna know more stuff about Rune (and some with Ruth) that I came up with while drawing this, look below!
Rune stims. Known stims they do are making paper stars, making art/drawing sigils, and flapping their wings open and close.
Facial expressions don't come naturally for them thanks to Ruth, but Rune still tries and it might look forced, or stay frozen (prefers to smile).
Rune doesn't need to open their eyes to see. Ruth, however, does need them open to see.
You might have noticed that Rune has no neck. That means they could reenact the exorcist and have 360 view. You could also take of their head if you want, but there will be a constant invisible force pulling against you. Both Rune and Ruth don't appreciate it if you do take their head.
Even though Rune is the one who decides how they look, Ruth has added minor additions to their appearance that serves as reminders.
If you do any action that requires touching their back (such as patting their back), make yourself known first. If not, Rune will react badly to it, no matter the intention.
Their hat and any pockets that they have leads to a personal pocket dimension where they basically store everything. The hat also stays floating above their head because of constant telekinesis that can't really turn off.
Rune doesn't need basic needs such as eating or sleeping, but does it anyway to feel included. Ruth disapproves and there will be days where Rune doesn't participate because of them.
Rune is interested in learning magic with necromancy being their favorite. Ruth is the one interested in art. Both of their interests kind of bled over each other.
They identify as agender and can go by any pronoun (”it” included), but due to certain moments in dimension traveling, they have come to use neopronouns (null/nulls/nullself) if the person is more comfortable with using them rather than the standard pronouns (or if the standard pronouns don't exist in the universe they were staying at the time).
Because of a specific event, Ruth lets Rune use catgender pronouns (nya/nyans/nyanself, purr/purrs/purrself) when referring to them, even jokingly and affectionately letting Rune identify them as nyan-binary. Anybody besides Rune however, can only address Ruth with any of the standard pronouns, including "it".
Oh don't worry too much about the consistency thing, many creators (me included) have different styles for different things. That and the inconsistency isn't bad at all! It may seem annoying, but it can actually help you later on!
Often the inconsistency will very slowly blend into one consistent-ish thing over time, and before that, the inconsistency up until then would have helped you learn new things and techniques! (Obviously you shouldn't ever stop learning new things in art after having found a style that comes naturally) But uh, yeh! Just keep regularly drawing and both your hand and Brain will slowly figure out what they like most^^ -♠️❤️
Thank you so much for the advise, Clubs! I'll be sure to remember this. :D
(Not much of a writer, but I did my best @red1sg0n3)
They are a foreigner to the universes they visit. A mere tourist.
As such, Rune has seen many things throughout their travels. They have seen mortals be worshipped, which led to them rising and becoming equal with their gods. They have seen powerful entities who craved for more fall by their own greed, not understanding the power they obtained in its entirety. They have seen the life and glories of many, as well as the death and tragedies of many more.
Through it all, Rune merely observed from a distance. Those who saw them observe and hunt them down for what had transpired, they keep quiet. Rune desires(?) to remain neutral as they learn of everything they wish, so they watch and respect.
They are no different now as they watch Mother Redza and their siblings her children search the entire mansion for Kinkade with wide and panicked eyes. They don't speak their concerns suspicions on M's slight change in behavior that lasted for weeks in the aftermath of Kinkade's disappearance. They don't mention or visit the unmoved room that belongs to Kinkade out of grief and mourning respect. They don't voice their fears indifference when they saw Lore entering the forest, or when they saw Feather stand by its edge.
And they certainly don't mention their anxiety interest in the forest's offers of knowledge. The idea of seeing it overtake the mansion and the gods inside fills Rune with a familiar anguish thrill.
Rune knows they should talk. They know that the forest is only speaking for its own gain. They know that they're part of this family.
Yet, as they hug their knees, the wings on the sides of their head covering their face to hide the silent tears, they couldn't. No matter how much they want to accept the mansion's residents as their family just as much as they accept them as a sibling, they just couldn't.
There are rules they don't have to follow, and this universe is not theirs. They are a foreigner, a mere tourist even if they're welcomed with open arms. Once they're satisfied with what they've learned, they'll leave this family like the other families that they had loved and cared for.
But Rune would like to argue to the invisible force that there was nothing wrong with gaining familial bonds, that being in a family is not going against any rules.
Ruth says otherwise.
Afterall.
They are a foreigner to the universes they visit. A mere tourist.
