A shadow dance performance out take from “The City & The City” made with Mariam Ghani
The day after hearing about Ko Murobushi’s death I came across this little bird while walking down a sidewalk in Brooklyn. A suspended moment of transformation, how hauntingly beautiful. Ko would often talk of that moment in between, the embodied image of Pompeii, Icarus, one thing becoming another. With his dance he would crawl into these suspended moments, haunted moments, and bring presence, whit and honesty. A reminder that even in stillness things are always changing, and that the echo of a vibration can be felt. My heart breaks open with gratitude for the time I got to spend with him and his dance.
