I swore I wasn’t dead, but here’s all I have as proof of that for now. That’s what I get for juggling client work/commissions on top of a full time job, ha!

Mountain type Aequis with osprey coloration, and some sparkly but subtle Aequis flare in the form of some silvery lacing around the feathers. They glitter a bit in person!

I want to get the other two in this queue started alongside this one, but I will need to polish my juggling skills. Thanks all of you for your patience, it’s been much appreciated.

Creature Anatomy - Week 4

Week 4 of my creature anatomy course focused on feline and canine anatomy. We had the option of doing a canine dinosaur hybrid creature or a feline bird hybrid creature. I went with the cat bird since feline anatomy is less familiar to me. The influences for the creature came from mountain lions and harpy eagles. It also has a tiny bit of microraptor in there with the hind limb having well developed flight feathers.

I am generally allergic to dynamic poses, at least when it comes to Aequis, or that’s how it’s felt to me. I’ve been blaming their mostly fused spines for this. But maybe it’s okay if they can manage a subtle twist for maneuvering?

What do I know about flight dynamics? I’m not a bird. Just a sketchy concept that might someday become something more.
