another example of a pokemon actively developing sapience through human contact, the scrafty is a common sight in urbanized areas. it is an underdog even amongst other pokemon of similar sapience and typing, especially when many other fighter cultures revolve around strict courtesy and honor systems, which scrafty are often at odds with. this boils down not to a difference in intelligence, but to a fundamental friction against the human-centric customs and beliefs of pokemon such as its distant cousin, the machamp, which has long since fully integrated itself with humankind.

scrafty are considered distrusting, rebellious hooligans that may pose a threat to human civilians when left unchecked. however, it is still a social creature, and may consider the human inhabitants in its territory part of its family, if not a begrudging ally. ironically mirroring the trainer-bonding cultures of its peers is the rare scrafty that imprints on a trainer who grew up in the same back alleys as they did.

If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public.
