People think being alone makes you lonely, but I don’t think that’s true. Being surrounded by the wrong people is the loneliest thing in the world.

I’m trying to get my split back after about 10 years, any little bit of stretching advice helps. The one we used at my dance studio was the upside down wall split. Ugh, holy pain angel!
People ask what I do for my butt. This is one exercise I do other than squats :)
great job!
this is probably the best exercise other than squats for your butt.
Try it with your upper back on a bench with a bar on your hips, amazing for your butt!
I'm 20 and I feel like I've lost all sex appeal and confidence. what do I do?
pamper yourself. take a long shower. exfoliate. get a pedicure. stare at your perfections in the mirror. try that new hairstyle you’ve been eyeing. snap some nudes. buy some lingerie. masturbate.
Spring onion falafel with millet / Recipe
5 things to do before you get out of bed; 1. express gratitude 2. set your intentions for the day 3. take five long deep breaths in & out 4. smile for no reason just flex the muscle 5. forgive yourself for yesterdays mistakes

Feeling the self love today.
This is Maria.
One of my new aerial hoop students. Clearly Maria is overweight and so aerial hoop would normally be inaccessible for her. But we don’t like to turn someone away who is making the effort to change and to better themselves. She told me how she had a gastric band operation in an attempt to lose weight but wasn’t losing any more and that she wants to get in shape but do something fun. She also takes regular walks, has a fairly physical job and goes swimming.
We realised some time ago that you can rig a hoop low so a student can simply sit in to the hoop - we either hang a hoop off the main beam in the studio or put up our rig which is adjustable.
We spend a good deal of the first part of the lesson simply doing body weight exercises. As she won’t get strong enough simply by sitting in the hoop. Then I get her in the hoop and there is a whole host of moves she can work on that don’t require a lot of strength but that will still get her muscles moving. She always looks like she’s had a good work out by the end of the lesson.
Together we are building up a little routine she can do low in the hoop. And I hope someday soon we will be able to get her up in a higher hoop and by that point she will have a whole host of moves and skills already in place. She can get in to pixie in a higher hoop but struggles to keep her leg grip at the moment. We’ve been working on that leg grip from the floor.
THERE ARE ALWAYS adjustments that can be made for your students. Telling someone they are too fat or overweight is an excuse for being lazy.
YES YES YES.
i cannot tell you how insanely happy this makes me! where is this? i need to take classes here!
Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England :) L.A Studios.
heartbreak! i’m all the way in DC. Another reason to visit England, it seems :)
I don’t know if there is anywhere near you that teaches but you should definitely contact some places and see if anyone will accommodate you :) proper circus spaces usually are able to vary the height of their apparatus on a drop line(?). Privates are often best for students with low levels of fitness or strength because they can take it at their own pace and get all of the instructors attention.
If you ever do come to England feel free to look us up ;) xo
