no because i'm still pissed off. DC had the opportunity years ago to make their stance known. to let them trolls know that their racism was not acceptable. they had the opportunity to show unequivocal support for their black female leads. they had the opportunity to make the environment more equitable and safe and healthy for their black women.
they did nothing.
they did nothing.
Meet the crew of the pirate ship Lutessa’s Reign. :)
He knew. And he didn’t tell. The last time I saw him, he tried to kiss me. I panicked. But if he were here, I’d kiss him in front of everyone. He liked me. All of me.
dichen lachman as maggie sawyer (insp) we should kiss the girls we want to kiss.
When I was told that my character was to come out in season 2, a flurry of thoughts and emotions flew through and around me because of the responsibility I personally felt to authentically represent Alex’s journey. What I didn’t realize was how the scene where she finally confessed her truth would leap off the pages of a script and genuinely become a variation of my own. IRL. My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest each take we filmed, every time presenting another opportunity to get those honest words out of my mouth. Though they don’t exactly match my personal dialogue, the heart behind it surely did. From the director, the press, the media, the cast, and the fans, I’m still told that it was the most realistic coming out scene they’d ever witnessed. And to steal from Alex’s words, that’s because there’s some truth to what she said about me. - Chyler Leigh
I think it's disgusting Mechad was treated that way, nobody should have to go through that because of a role. But I think bringing up Katie personally is going to make peeople come after her. Also, any guy I think regardless of race that impedes on Lena, Kara, or Supercorp in general is sadly going to get treated that way, because of some radicals in the fandom. Look at how Chris and Staz were treated.
While all that may be true, the fact is that Mehcad - a Black actor whose character was in a relationship with a white woman - received death threats.
Fandom doesn’t get to decide what’s racist and not racist to the Black person on the receiving end of those disgusting threats.
Mehcad is entirely within his rights to bring up Katie’s name, and any fans fixating on that as an issue need to get their priorities straight. Guaranteed: she and Mehcad have already talked about this at length. She’s a grown woman who can take care of herself. I remember how affectionate and supportive she was of him at that comic con ... makes even more sense now.
Ignore the noise from other shippers and fans looking to score points. Let’s instead focus on the fact that people in this fandom behaved terribly to Mehcad, and took it as far as death threats. #NotAllSupercorps is really not the point.
It doesn’t matter anything more than there were a ridiculous side of the fandom that is way to radical and behave horrible towards not only Mehcad but also Rahul; and it looks like that a part of the Staz criticism is coming like that.
Is something bad that we as a fandom has to recognize that exists in our group and that we have to fight to stop.
Is something that we have to clean. I think that the time and what is happening is a good moment to stop and start understanding what is really going on. Just like we have to deal with homophobia. If we want that people understand and respect our fight, is not ok to let others attack. Is just wrong.

on today, the day of arrow’s ending, just thought i’d share some THOUGHTS. perhaps a few MUSINGS. it doesn’t feel like sevenish years but it has been, i’m old and cranky but i was thinking about it again today, so here we go. here’s how i’d fix ARROW, if the world had realized how right i am about everything and put me in charge:
