I was in town today, I was feeling confident and happy on this fine beautiful day when I saw this middle-aged man on the sidewalk wearing shades and a tracksuit on holding a sign up saying, “ABORTION 12 WEEKS OR OVER IS MURDER; SHAME ON YOU”, then just to make things ten times worse… we looked at me… stared down at me like he owned me and my body. I never felt so humiliated in my entire life. I just wanted to go up to him and say with a big smile on my face, “well sir, about a year ago, I miscarried at 8 weeks and because I was in a emotionally abusive relationship I felt so low that I drank every drink I could drink on a night out and a few days later I miscarried… shame on me? huh?” You have no fucking idea what’s it’s REALLY like; both miscarriage and abortion are extremely sensitive matters and the only person who should have a say in it is the woman who has to deal with one of those things. If any girl/woman who is going through or has gone through a miscarriage or abortion for whatever reason you are not alone and you are beautiful and not a bad person! I will never forget the image of that man and his horrific sign… shame on him.
