Name: Felix Armando Salvador
Birthday: November 26, 2146
Place of Birth: Santiago, Chile
Occupaton: Ex-Cartel prince, currently military working for The Company
About: (TW: murder, death, abuse)
Felix’s home was on fire long before he arrived. Santiago’s four seasons were drought, fire, flooding, and mudslides. The once booming cit had fallen onto hard times and despite the millions that still called it home the population was declining and the law was slipping out from under the officials.
He was the third son of Diego Salvador, king and founder of a drug cartel in the bowels of the city. Diego was a king to his men and his children were the royalty of Chile. No one dared place a hand on the five Salvador children, unless it was one of their brethren. The extended family of uncles, aunts, and cousins that leached off the success and genius of Diego.
His father was a cruel and ambitious man but he had the type of smile that drew you inward. His sisters, his brothers, they all yearned for the man’s approval. He did, until the age of nine when he witnessed his father put a bullet in his mother’s skull. Later he would find out that she’d been unfaithful, that she was planning on fleeing the country. He wished and thought often about what would have happened if she was successful.
Spoiled and set loose on the city from a very young age, Felix developed an innate sense of confidence. He had his mother’s looks, but his father’s clever smile. He was far-sighted from day one, which gave him an advantage during target practice. Guns came easily to him. Aim, shoot, reload.
At thirteen, he went on his first assignment with his father’s men and killed his first man. He was the sniper and the kill was from a distance, but the image of it didn’t leave him. By the time he was fifteen he stopped counting how many he’d shot.
Once puberty hit he was in and out of the beds of as many people as would have him. Male, female, undecided. It was said in whispers that Diego could not wrestle enough coin to keep up with his son’s debts.
Despite the apparent luxury he lived in, life was unsatisfying. He was bound by no choice of his own into serving his father. His elder brother would become King after Diego passed and when that happened his allegiance would fall to him. At church on Sunday’s he often thought of the Devil’s words. Better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven. Leaving however, would not be simple. He had his mother as example of that.
In the mountains next to the city, The Company had a laboratory that the cartel raided. They’d come at night when shipments were expected, loot what they could, and disappear into the wilderness before first light. It was a routine raid in 2168 that sent a bullet through his eldest brother’s skull. Jose Salvador’s blood, seeping into the ground would open a war between the cartel and the company that would last nearly three years.
In 2170, with the return of the Inferno IX a plan started to form in Felix’s head. He had slept with many a scientist, soldier, or employee of the company and it did not take too long to gain access to the lab through more legal channels. There he negotiated a deal with the board members. Immunity and service for ten years, in return for his family. He bargained for the life of his favorite siblings, and younger sister as well.
The infiltration and dismantling of the cartel ran as smoothly as anyone could wish. Diego Salvador and his eldest daughter fought to their deaths, as did many more of Felix’s family, but the rest were sent to prison to live out their lives. Felix and his little sister Leona took a flight to Los Angeles where he would serve out his years under the company.
America suited him well, and his work took little off his shoulders. He was free to be his own man and live his own life for once.
Halfway through his service, Leona was killed by men sent from Chile that wanted revenge on Felix. She was the last piece of string tying him to his old life, and to his family. Without her, his excesses were left unchecked.
After serving out his time with The Company he was set loose. He bought himself a nice house with his earnings, and went into the private hire sector. He was good at killing, it was quick work, and the pay was good.
He yearned for more though, so when the news came around of soldiers being hired for the Inferno X mission he was quick to throw his hat in the ring. At the least it was eight years of sleep, at the most it was the chance to kick it with a bunch of uptight scientists. He was fine with either option.
