This is the “Williams Enigmalith” an object that is the basis for many conspiracy theories. I couldn’t find aanything on snopes about it so I asume some artist made it. Anyways I recently rewatched “nakari speardanes video about dolls and making culture tropes in your world out of baseless theories (https://youtu.be/s0d5MsRrows). So I decided to do something like that in my world, introducing the selling rocks:

In the qa desert there are these things I call “oasee bazaars”, they are bazaars around oasees where people trade goods like domesticated desert foxes (I’ll explain those another time), cactus cloth  etc... so some traders started putting in metal rods when they made a succesfull bargain for bragging rights, they were then spread and werry succesfull traders would sometimesrun out of rods, to combat this some buyers bring around metal rods in case their trader runs out of ‘em.

I haven’t yet evolved proto-southern Qa which is spoken when this practice starts, but I’ll make sure to post the volcabulary related to these stones in the future.
