The fact that he made Hol as Ken and Jotaro as Ryu just gave me too many JotaHol ideas...also kinda odd to think about the possibility of an opposite nature for Hol and Jotaro (Ryu is more solitary and only wanted to master his skills, Ken is more about settling down with his family).
Of course Polnareff is Guile. Guile's hair and backstory fits him (or more like SF found inspiration from him?)
Latest merch (official and fanmade) haul!
Official merchs are mostly Polnareff. Stickers of the gang, the purple and orange PolPol and the three PolPol + Jotaro and Hol Horse photocards are from the Sushiro Japan collab.
With that red Hol trading card and the Hol keychain, I can safely say I'm about 85% done collecting merchs of the cowboy. I know I'm missing a few things like his official merch hat, some rare old badges, standees, shirts and a silly Thoth-Hol plushie. And I heard there's more of him coming soon.
Fanmade merchs are mostly made from well-known Hol Horse fanartists. I got them from pixiv's marketplace Booth. The HolPol doujin, I can't remember from which shop, but idc...BC IT'S THE ONE AND ONLY HOLPOL FANBOOK IN EXISTENCE! I'm so, so happy to finally own a copy! 💕

So...next episode of SBR would be in the fall season. About 5 months from now. Then it would be a weekly thing.
As I said before, I don't mind. The longer time you give the animators to animate, the better it will be. Dorohedoro is a great example of that...6 years between, bruh, yet we get weeklies and top-notch animation by the end of the day.
Again, don't rush the animators.
I have this JoJo AU for some time now. Idk how will it fair with the many aus already established by other fans, or if I would expand it beyond just this post...but it'll be a shame not to share it.
I call this the PODIUM BOYS AU
Based on Dio always wanting to be No 1, Hol saying No 2 is better and Kira keeping himself mellow at No 3. Hence.
In this au, they live in the same flat, attending the same college. I made Dio genderfluid and bi in this au, he's loud and often had beef with a collegemate (Jonathan, naturally). He majored in performative arts, spills tea like a hand sanitizer dispenser and works out often in the gym. He loves to annoy Hol but respects Kira in a way.
Hol is pan but is in a relationship with Polnareff. He's very laidback to a point everyone - including his bf - thought he was lazy. But he scored his exams well, and majored in an engineering course. He put on whatever clothes he had and never cared if they were mismatched. He also can't cook to save his life, so Dio and Kira made sure he stayed out of the kitchen.
Kira is, by far, straight...maybe curious. He's the unintentional mother of the three. He cooked for everyone, cleaned the flat, and really just put up with any shenanigans going on. He majored in accounting and he barely stand out as a student. He likes cats. Dio and Hol were scared of him sometimes.

I think it's mostly done...maybe a few more, including the signed Polnareff card. But mostly done.
I'm just glad Dorohedoro is there to save me from waiting for Steel Ball Run.
And now I can't stop comparing their animation styles. Don't get me wrong, I think David Productions did well with all the JoJo seasons...but I was expecting the animation game to be greater with SBR, since it is Araki's peak JoJo chapter, the one he actually wanted to serialise from the very beginning, the one that incorporated both his love for cowboys and music.
Then Mappa came up with the animation for Dorohedoro, which, mind you, is not easy to animate because unlike JoJo, which gives you an action movement panel by panel, Dorohedoro's actions can be compressed to only one panel (like 2-3 things happening in one shot). And Mappa animators nailed it. The filling-in-the-blanks probably gave the animators more liberty, but JoJo could have had the same approach too.
Idk. I had feared this thing would happen when we rush animators, hence why I wouldn't have minded if SBR is released mid-2026 to end-2026. So I guess the best I could do now is enjoy Dorohedoro while waiting for SBR to continue.

I usually don't see much Hol Horse posts when I used the search bar, just a few from the usuals. But today almost everyone mentioning the cowboy got shown??
I just bought two new photocard album, one gold and one silver, since my old one looks like it would burst anytime soon. Plus, I'm waiting for at least 25 more JoJo trading cards to arrive (mostly Polnareff this time), so it's a good time for a little change.
That said, while rearranging the cards (+ stickers and postcards), I took the liberty to photograph them.

I think the main issue with being a Mountain Tim fan is that he was infatuated with a 14 year old. At least in Steven Steel's case, he only married her to protect her, Mountain Tim had no excuse. I actually hope they don't bring that up in the anime.
I can counter-argue that in the 19th Century America (until mid-20th Century unfortunately), 14-year olds were considered matured enough to be in love with and courted into marriage. Education and awareness weren't that great back then everywhere in the world, and only the truly privileged girls from privileged families could have the option to not marry young.
If they want to put Mountain Tim in that category, then don't excuse Steven Steel too. Man's older to Lucy by 39 years. Plus, if fans truly read SBR, yes, Mountain Tim fell in love with Lucy, but he never pursued her out of respect. He even protected her (and our two protags too) until the very end.
Really, bruh. Wth. Give him some credit.
Personally, I find it a weak reason not to like a fictional character, especially one living in a timeline that fits the overall character narrative. Mind you, Polnareff was flirty af with a 16 year old in the late 1980s - also pretty normal back then if one remember the groupie culture AND India's overall societal situation - but I barely saw anyone hating on him.
I guess I'm the only one excited about seeing Mountain Tim... 🥲
Since SBR is coming out in a few minutes, I wonder what Mountain Tim would look like. I'll be shooketh if they wanted to follow the colour scheme of his one and only figurine i.e. with black hair.

Maybe I should make a HolPol fankid. Maybe give him/her/them a French name (Polnareff's idea)...only for Hol to butcher the name by either shortforming it (eg. Lucien to Lucy or Luce, Etoile to Stargirl) or making up an entire different name, preferably from whatever first thing he saw at the moment.
So many body types for Hol, I want to draw them all...💕

I drew this for a Part 5 au where post-CDDH Hol got himself hired by Pericolo as Trish's bodyguard and eventually joined Bruno's team on their mission. Partly why he was in Italy was to track down Polnareff, also to find a job bc he's a broke arse merc.
