the one area i feel bad for ozai in is that he had to watch his own son get burned :’(
previously, ursa never even knew zuko was burned and iroh wasn't even there when lu ten was dead. but ozai watched his son burn and it's still traumatizing him in sozin's comet.
ozai was literally right there when his own son suffered such a traumatic injury. i can’t even begin to imagine how traumatic that event would be to ozai.
i hear people complaining about how their aren’t any white characters in atla but like. ty lee and suki are right there.
i mean seriously, ty lee is you’re stereotypical girly girl chearleeder type. the popular blonde princess in highschool, she’s clearly just gotten her hair dyed brown to blende in better. i mean she’s basically just karen smith from mean girls. wears pink? cheque. dumb? cheque. mean? cheque. part of a trio of mean girls? cheque. plus she’s got big titties and we all no asian girls dont have big boobs so ty lee is definitely white.
suki and sokka ended up in a relationship and sokka is brown and so suki has to be white because we can’t have two people of colour in a relationship together and it doesn’t make sense for sokka to be the white one because he doesn’t look white but suki wears white make up so she looks white.
reasons why the southern water tribe are clearly sexist
1. we see that katara and the other women often wear pants. this is clearly an attempt to show that pants and thus men, the true inventors of pants, are superior and not at all because pants help keep your legs warm.
3. the men have long hair, most notably sokka, an extremely manly man, even wears his hair in a ponytail. this is clearly to assert the superiority of the male species as they appear extremely fashionable in a way superior to women’s ponytails.
2. they all wear blue. blue is clearly a very masculine colour, much like the ocean which is ruled by the male ocean spirit, la. clearly, if the water tribes were feminist they’d all dress in pink, just like the feminist and super-progressive fire nation military.
c) they all dress in animal furs, this is obviously because fur and leather are very masculine and not because these are the warmest materials available in a polar climate.
6. many of the men are shown wearing sleeveless shirts with low-cut collars. this is clearly a hate crime against women because women find it impossible to develop big muscles to appropriately show off with revealing shirts.
3. a) the women are always fully dressed and not showing any excess skin. this is clearly an attempt to show that women should be ashamed of their bodies. Examples of woman positive media: Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, World of Warcraft, Brazzers etc.
3. b) continuing with the previous point, we see that in the fire nation the women are notably freed from the patriarchy by being able to wear revealing clothing and participate in a fascist military. comapre this to the southern water tribe wear the women are forced into duties of child-rearing, hunting, fishing, cooking and other daily duties to ensure they do not starve in the polar winter. that’s extremely unfair >:(
7. comparing the ultra-liberated feminist utopia of the fire nation once more, kya (katara and sokka’s mother) had to die to truly escape the burden that is motherhood :( whereas ursa was able to merely leave in the middle of the night and abandon her children to the feminist military leader and loving father, ozai. how unfair for the water tribe women!

a) it mirrors zutara with the sun and moon theme because sokka is fire because of his sharp personality and burning wit and azula is water because her fire is blue like water.
2. azula brings out sokka’s inner feminist, encouraging him to let go of silly notions of toxic masculinity. in their most prominent and memorable interaction azula encouraged sokka to do his most feminist accomplishment ever: cry on the field of battle.
d) insulting and torturing people is azula’s way of expressing affection and it’s very feminist to understand that and because sokka is the ultimate feminist he understands and appreciates the love behind azula’s words when she calls him an illiterate inbred peasant <3

of course i love atla but i do of course have some nitpicks. no show is without flaws. for one thing, i think it’s extremely fucked up that kataras tits weren’t bigger. she’s a grown adult woman who carried the whole fucking team on her back 24/7, and that’s not the only thing that should’ve been giving her back pain: i am, of course, referring to katara’s massive breasts. her big kahunas. her giant badonkahonkers.
it’s also very fucked up to me that katara, the sexy mom of the group, would ever deign to kiss aang, who, may i remind you, is BALD. zuko, on the other hand, had hair??? so maybe if aang had had hair, like zuko, and was also taller, and more masculine, and had a deeper voice and bigger muscles, then it would make sense why a beautiful dame like katara would agree to kiss a widdle babie boy like aang.
hot broads such as katara, a known slut, but also a nun, and also, my mommy, should never be allowed to have fun, or flaws, or depth, or agency, because all the blood from her brain is too busy rushing to her tits, which is the source of her godly maternal powers. the only flaw katara should have been allowed to have is the fatal flaw of clumsiness, which is caused by not being able to see where she is going whenever she walks, because her big bouncy boobies keep obscuring her view.
atla was a pretty feminist show, but as an expert on women (i watch a lot of porn), these are my suggestions to improve the character of katara, who was definitely done dirty by the writers when they gave her the itty bitty titties of a little girl, as opposed to the dignified breasts of a mature motherly woman. i complain about this constantly because i just care so much about the portrayal of strong female characters in the media i consume, and if you disagree with anything i just said, it’s because you are a misogynist. <3
