tw: sexual assault/abuse
“This song is from a new play in Tokyo called Girls Won’t Die for Men. The play was made to expose hundreds of stage directors/serial rapists in Japan. And also to reject the ‘masterpieces’ where female characters suffer the problems men caused (then die).
‘Tax-funded stage director rapists’ are so common in Japan, there’s even a manga to expose them. This made a quite a stir, but the male-dominated industry is extremely slow to act… thus the above play was born. One of the victims of such rapists was an asexual non-binary actor Nana. They were raped multiple times by a drama teacher/stage director who also claimed he’s a LGBTQ ally. Although he admitted to the police he raped Nana, no charge has been filed, and it’s baffling (and horrifying) how ABSOLUTELY SILENT Japanese news media is. NONE of them are covering this decades-long wide-spread sexual abuse in the theatre industry.
If you want to learn more about this issue, you can watch Girl Won’t Die for Men (until Oct 15th). But keep in mind it doesn’t have Eng subtitles. https://v2.kan-geki.com/live-streaming/ticket/798… You can also purchase a copy of the script (Japanese) to better understand.”
Introduction
Hello, I’m M. I’ve been a member of a lesbian land group for over a year now. I first discovered the land on accident, after attending a book group for “Odd Girls and Twilight Lovers” by Lilian Faderman at my local library. I was very interested in meeting other women who were reading books like that, and I was not disappointed! I met the woman who first invited me out to the land there. I went to my first work day on the land a couple of months later. I was delighted by what I saw, to say the least! I’d lived in a queer housing co-op for a few months in a city before, and I’d found the more communal lifestyle quite to my liking, although I wasn’t crazy about living with men. I had also lived off-grid in a 200sq ft house for three years. When I found out about lesbian land, everything just seemed to click into place. My organization had and has a one-year minimum potential membership period, and after I’d been going out there for about six months I knew enough to want in, and put in my letter of intent. My membership application process was a year and a half; COVID made everything slower and harder as no one really knew how to deal with the pandemic, on the land or off. A year ago, I was approved as a member. My land has a few women shy of 20 members at present. All told, I’ve been coming out to the land for three years now; was a potential member for a year and a half; and have been a member over a year now. My community has existed on and owned the land for over forty years.
I used to have a tumblr, and I lurked some after deleting it. I found myself a bit frustrated with womyn acting like lesbian land or womyn’s land is a nonexistent fantasy idea; it’s been a part of my life for three years and it is a very real, vibrant, and rich reality. There are lands all over the country desperate for young lesbians, who want to pass on their culture and legacy to a new generation of womyn. I would like to help show what life is like as a young landyke building a place to move out to (hopefully in the Fall or Winter this year!). I’m here to answer any questions any womyn might have about my experiences with lesbian land as a young dyke.

VAGINAS AND JAPAN
What would happen if in a country like Japan, which has a festivity on phallic symbols (Kanamara Matsuri), a woman decides to exhibit art whose main concept is the vagina? Maybe you already know the answer or you can imagine it or maybe not, anyway this is what happened to Megumi Igarashi, a mangaka, artist, sculptor, feminist and activist, whose mission is to free Manko.
