delusional woman seeks comfort in a digital world ….
i actually think it's scary that we seem to be forgetting what regular human beings look like and that in some cases it's being deliberately accelerated by incels and their esoteric mythology of appearance now that they have the cultural microphone. it's scary that i can watch a movie from like 1991 and be like "oh if this woman was cast as a leading lady today it'd be a culture war outrage session about ugly women being shoved in our faces"
i think the main thing that bothers me is how chinese lolita, despite arguably being a unique individual subset of lolita fashion, tends to be what people new to lolita envision when thinking of the fashion. amaloli brands like to alice that are more idol-like than lolita-like and that look tacky (amavel too, they're japanese but have the same vibe). it's the same with gyaru, china's gyaru is a much different style but is now viewed as the benchmark to people overseas for what gyaru is. i have no issue with the styles themselves (i actually like chinese gyaru a lot), what i dislike is the true look and history of these styles being erased and like i mentioned, the quality! even beautiful and higher-end taobao brands like elpress are noticeably cheaper feeling & looking than japanese lolita brands. and the construction and atmosphere is just so different... i don't understand why. maybe i'm just too much of a picky old school purist
taobao lolita is nice, and i’m glad it helps more people get into lolita, but honestly a lot of it is visibly cheap and low quality so it kinda makes me sad that such a big chunk of the international community only wears taobao brands
i think gatekeeping is okay...people who buy knockoffs are free to do so but just call it something else. idc if lolita is prohibitively expensive bc fashion is not a human right
i was talking about taobao lolita brands in general, not just the knock off sellers! but agreed, i'm not a fan of knockoffs either, it's such an insult to the artists who worked hard to create the designs... you're so right, people need to learn that it's okay to save for a while to afford good quality clothes you love, fast fashion has conditioned people into thinking they should get whatever they want right away (most people nowadays don't know what quality clothing even feels & looks like either, which sucks)

sick of how normalized misogyny is. every person in the comments was saying that this was inappropriate, that it was sexual, that op was in the wrong. how?? yes, it wasn't the best explanation, but why is female anatomy so taboo that a three year old can't know about a basic process she and every other girl around her will be experiencing??? god
Teaching children, especially girls, about periods needs to be normalized. We have books like "Everybody Poops" in school libraries, which is fair, because that is a normal biological process that everyone experiences, even if it is a bit icky. Same should go for periods.
the explanation wasn't even that bad, maybe she could have dumbed it down and sanitized even further for the age of three-four
but i hate how it isn't the standard to teach girls about their own bodies, leaving them confused, and there is some sort of shocking initiation into teenage girlhood that happens because our own anatomy isn't taught and normalized
going to jozankei in autumn, i’m soo excited to visit an onsen and see the scenery while hiking. i’ve heard futami jozan road is especially beautiful
i hateee the word “lippies” so much … makes me cringe hard for no reason. spiritually the same as “hubby” and “littles”
very very late but i saw your post abt KP and glycolic acid is also really good for KP and also like 10000 other things. i use it before i put on deodorant and it makes sweat waaay less bad and also you can use it on your scalp too
really ?? i've seen people talk about it but didn't realize it had that many benefits ... thank you !!
the way some people treat sex tourism as a joke about losers desperate for sex will never sit right with me
some of the most gruesome sex crimes cases you'll come across are the result of sex tourists, the level of dehumanization involved is not unlike that of a serial killer
Daisy’s Destruction was possible because of sex tourism. It’s important that people know that even though Peter Scully was sentenced to life in prison, the men that commissioned the tape and helped him make it are all free.
when the way you talk about other women & girls sounds no different than the way incels & misogynists talk about women & girls, you might want to do some self reflection
of course men are already calling the new european broadcasting union athletic footage guidelines "puritanical" and saying "the next step is mandated burqas". god forbid you see proper footage of women playing sports instead of zoomed in shots of their ass and cleavage

people say it "reduces women to biology" by defining a woman as an adult human female. but that argument only works if you already think being female is a something reductive.
it's not. there's nothing reductive or shameful about having a uterus, ovaries, a vagina. it's just a body.
saying "woman means adult human female" isn't reducing anyone. it's not an insult.
the people getting mad about that definition are the ones adding the shame to it. we're not the ones treating "female" like a slur.
at my new job i've already been able to connect with the non disabled teenagers and kids above 6, so happy because these aren't demographics i've worked with before and i was worried
