Due to economy, women passing men in jobs
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/06/business/06women.html?em But could this be as a result of women making less than men? And businesses save money by laying off men?
is she right? I think in certain crowds or professional settings-yes. Or, ... did this lady just get old?
this is me, probably at my best.
The thing about violence against women (VAW) is that it is often seen as an individual's experience only, whereas in actuality VAW is an international phenomenon that occurs across lines of race, creed, ethnicity, nationality, class, socioeconomic status, etc. Also, VAW intersects with a wide variety of issues, such as race, class, and issues of health, including HIV/AIDS.
In order to show these intersectionalities, with CWGL I created a series of videos displaying issues of VAW through the experiences and expertise of several women's human rights defenders.
This particular video is from Alejandra Scampini of Action Aid, and she talks about the intersections between HIV/AIDS and VAW, as well as the campaign Women Won't Wait (http://womenwontwait.org/).

Let’s talk about sex...
Comprehensive sex education is what both men and women need to be informed. Without information, young women and girls are more likely to have an unplanned pregnancy or get an STD/STI. Also, when people have more information on sex, how to say no, when to say no, and most importantly, to recognize a no... sexual assault and nonstranger (date) rape is less likely to occur.

ALSO!
Planned Parenthood is fighting to get comprehensive sex ed into the schools, and they are encouraging the next president who takes office to fight for it as well. Visit the attached Web site to learn more and sign a petition to make it happen, captn':
