candy!roxy isnt cis
hello hi... theres a Very Common misconception that roxy in the candy epilogue is a cis woman, and i would Like To Help educate people on why hes Not one.
in candy, epilogue two/chapter ten, roxy has this conversation with egbert:
it... doesnt really get anywhere, but it shows us that roxy Has thought about his gender in the candy epilogue.
he also says this in the same chapter:
this feeling is Very Common among trans men. and, although femininity expected of AFAB people is very performative In General, his sentiment isnt echoed by any other women in homestuck ( and i, personally, havent heard cis women say things along those lines IRL ). therefore, this is Most Likely referencing roxys transness.
you may want to argue that roxy Isn't trans in the candy epilogue because he never brought up this topic again/came out to anyone/transitioned at all, but we are forgetting that... some people never accept that they're trans, and there are some trans people that Know they're trans and never transition At All.
a lot of ( especially younger + have been out as trans for longer ) people Forget that figuring out your gender And coming out can be a Really Fucking Hard thing to go through, Especially for someone who grew up in the 2000's
my " father " is an example of someone who never accepted their transness/downright refuses to do so. a huge part of their social circle consists of trans women, their ex-wife is a trans women, their son ( me ) is a trans man. they have told me that they're " probably a trans woman " but claimed that they cant transition/choose not to transition because of the field they work in + fear of backlash from Society In General. i... dont know if i'd exactly consider them trans, but they Sure As Hell arent cis.
while this isnt roxys Exact situation, i feel like he's in The Same Area Mentally. while this... isnt exactly canon, as we didnt get any scenes from his POV due to him being a void player, i feel like its Pretty Safe To Assume this.
