“Well, someone’s in a chipper mood aren’t they? Don’t b i t e me because you’re in a mood, Fenwick.”
With a glare, she grabbed a flute of champagne and took slow, steady sips of it. This was a new and { improved } Mary, or so she told herself.
Her words woke him up, making him realize how impossibly rude he was being. Mary, of all people, didn’t deserve that. “I’m sorry... I don’t mean to be, not with you.” As he apologized, Benjy’s gaze followed her hand to the champagne. Temptation nearly begging him to drink.
“Well then, you should enjoy it, Benjy.
“I can see why you’d want to spend it here. It’s a beautiful location. And especially right now, while it’s bursting with proper wizarding society.“
Benjy simply closed his mouth and tried his hardest to work with the girl. She hadn’t picked up on his sarcasm once so ever; seeming to take his words to heart. “Oh yes, it will definitely be the highlight of my holiday.” Grin and nod, grin and nod.
Marlene McKinnon:
“Well, why don’t you tell us all how you really feel, Fenwick –don’t hold back.”
He looked at her incredulously; not sure if she was being sarcastic or serious, though he figured it was the first. “Believe me, you don’t want me to tell you how i really feel.”
Emmeline Vance:
“Well, that makes two of us….”
“Why did you come, anyway? I mean, my father works for the Ministry, so I have to be here, but I’d have thought you’d have every reason in the world to be anywhere else.”
“He does?” Picturing her father among the many faces in the crowd caused him some anxiety. “I came because I wanted to see a few familiar faces. Yours mostly.”
Glenda Chittock:
“Then why did you come?”
“Because Glenda, I've always wanted to spend the last of my winter holidays here.”
Mary Macdonald:
“W e l l,” She murmured quietly, leaning against the wall. In her tipsy state, Mary could see that it was Benjy. Benjy. The one who had saved her life.
“If it’s any consolation, neither do I.”
“You don’t want to be around a bunch of people who seem to act like everything’s just dandy? – how odd.” his last comment was laced with sarcasm.
“Don’t let my presence fool you, -- I don’t want to be here.”
Send me "Don't chase the rabbit" and your muse will be shown a random memory from my muse's past.
Emmeline Vance:
“I’ve missed yours too.” I’ve missed you. I’ve been worried about you. Those are the first two thoughts in her mind when she sees him, the rest all quickly being pushed back, away from the front of her mind and out of her focus for the moment.
“Well, I was hardly out looking for you just for that, if that what you’re getting at.” Though she had been asking after him and hoping she’d run into him soon. “But, since we’re both here…” Trailing off for a moment, she let out a breath, taking a couple of steps towards him. “We could…”
His throat grew dry in excitement when she closed the distance between them. The chilly winter air did nothing but make him want her CLOSER; to pull her in and taste the softness of her lips against his. Emmeline had this way about her that caused him to lose sight of reality. It was a beautiful thing. “I wouldn’t mind...” he muttered, inching his body closer until they were breaths apart. His hand snaked its way behind her neck before fervent lips pressed eagerly against hers. With everything going wrong she was his o n e constant.
Sirius Black:
“I couldn’t, though.” He was so adamant in his belief, so unwavering in his loyalty to his house. Perhaps that was part of the reason a d o g was such a fitting form for him to take. “And you’re not sitting ducks, Benjy. You’ve all got people looking out for you.”
“I know you wouldn’t.” Earnest eyes look at his friend, honest and unwavering. And then he hears it again, that l i n e. It took true self control to keep from rolling his eyes, because honestly it felt as though they were all just bidding their time, waiting for the shoe to drop, and he hated it. But with all his friends, Benjy kept his opinions to himself and nodded in false agreement. “Of course we do, Sirius, but does it seem like it’s working?”

I will never be the same again. I’m damaged at best.
What do you want me to say? That I’m a stalker, huh? That I’m crazy, totally paranoid? None of this is new information.
