Is navigation difficult when first starting off? I don't imagine there's much in the way of towns or landmarks, and a compass won't help since every direction is south.
Donner:
The North Pole hosts Santa's Workshop, but most of us live in the Elf Outpost or X'mas Tree Forest. We start there, which is easy to remember as "the way home." From those places, there's a bit more landmarks.
The routine helps.
Prancer:
Magic helps more.
"Dear Rudolph's Mom- What were you even doing all that time?"
Pearly:
I was doing what I thought was best... we didn't know what was causing that magic. It could've been anything, something dangerous. We wanted to protect him.
I'm so glad he's got it under control now- but Rudolph has always been very sensitive, and I think he's making us out to be these awful scary villains. It's not true. Blazer is just a very different sort of deer than he is, y'know- very blunt and focused- but he always meant well. I hope Rudolph will come around to us again.
"Dear Rudolph, what is your favorite color?"
Rudolph:
I used to think it was red.
Of course, I couldn't say red- like, somehow, the other fawns would know, just from that. I couldn't say green either, the opposite of red- that's too obviously not-red. So I would always say yellow, like sunshine, was my favorite color...
... but now, I don't know what my "favorite color" is.
Every color has it's places to be best.
Prancer (Rogue) - Another reindeer with a lot of raw talent that hasn't learned to really apply it with discipline, like Rudolph. Prancer is a melodramatic "ham." Usually will loudly announce his departure (and inevitable return- did you miss me?) He'll sometimes actually sneak off for mischief.
Vixen (Druid) - An almost impossibly beautiful doe- she's also "feral" (as in unhinged, aloof, fickle, and uncouth when she feels like it.) She revels in "scaring chuds" who try to court her without knowing her. She likes Rudolph on the team- but more as a novelty than a new, capable leader.
Donner (Fighter) - Rudolph's Uncle. Man of few words or expressions, powerhouse, and dedicated "work-horse"- he was unaware of his brother's jealousy and his nephew's resulting trauma. Just here to pull a sleigh real well, and wants to teach Rudolph basics... which is met with... complicated emotions.
Rudolph* (Light Cleric) - Son of Blazer. A traumatized and self-conscious nerd who gets a little cocky after he is able to prove himself against a fog elemental and becomes leader of the Reindeer team. However, it'll take a little more conscious, steady effort to become respected by his peers.
*Might become "code-named" Rusty or Niner-Niner.
