She scooted closer to him as they watched the movie. It was so weird being so close to him, but in a good way. In the best way, really. Eventually, Molly ended up falling asleep as she leaned against him. It was unintentional. She just didn’t realize how tired she was.

Fernando quietly enjoyed the movie, watching it with Molly leaning against him. It was only as the first movie ended and the second begun did he realise Molly was asleep on him. Grabbing her pillow he placed it on his lap before he gently lay her down, putting her head on the pillow before he went back to watching the movie.

Fernando & Caprice

A weekend off from school, and sure as hell, Caprice was spending her time at the infirmary. St. Mungo’s had become her home away from home, so the second she came back to Hogwarts, she made a beeline for the infirmary. She absolutely refused to get out of practice.

Caprice was sorting through files when a healer popped in asking if she’d like to do some hands on work. Caprice grinned, abandoning her paperwork. She usually only took care of fundraisers and filing, but whenever she got the chance, she’d always follow around a healer.

Caprice waited outside for the healer to give her the high sign, and walked into the room. Her head snapped up at the nickname.

“Hi ‘Nando.” She grinned. “Not sure if I’m going to be a healer, but I volunteered at St. Mungo’s over the summer, and I didn’t want to get out of practice, so..”

“I think you’d be good at it. Put that energy to good use.” He smiled, watching his friend before he glanced down at his bare stump, looking at the big, ugly, pink scar that stretched across the bottom. 

“If you don’t want to handle this I completely understand. A lot of people get freaked out by it.” Fernando smiled, raising an eyebrow at Caprice as he watched her. “I won’t think any less of you, promise.”

Molly shrugged. “I was a probability because I wouldn’t want to climb all those stairs up to my dorm after watching so many movies and being so tired,” she said and leaned her head against his arm.

“I can understand how that would be a pain.” He replied, draping his arm over Molly’s shoulders as he continued to watch the movie.

Fernando & Caprice

If there ever was one major downside to voluntarily losing your leg, it was the constant appointments that had to be made. Of course there weren’t nearly as many as there had been when Fernando had a leg. And he knew that removing the troublesome limb wasn’t going to get rid of all the doctor’s appointments, but he had hoped that they would decrease significantly. 

His hopes didn’t exactly live up to the reality. 

As on a regular bi-annually basis Fernando was back in the infirmary, sitting on the end of a bed whilst a healer examined his stump, moving the flesh this way and that to make sure the scar tissue hadn’t stuck to his bones, whilst also making sure that the scar was healing well.

Suddenly the healer looked up and abandoned the boy, quickly saying something to someone who had just entered the room. When that person appeared in his line of sight the boy raised an eyebrow. 

“Cee, I never knew you wanted to be a healer.”

“As you are to her, she’s awesome. Always with one foot in trouble, but awesome.”

Molly grinned when Fernando took her hand, and she entwined their fingers together. His hands were so nice and warm… Perfect for holding. “Yeah?” she asked, looking up at him. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to. But if you stay here, I will, too.”

“I thought you were staying here no matter what?” Fernando replied, glancing at Molly before he smiled, his eyes flitting up to the screen.

Caprice laughed. “It’s not stupid. If she likes you, there won’t be any problems, and it’s kind of impossible not to like you. Now go. Fly out of the nest before mama bird drop kicks you out, so you learn how.”

“I’m older than you.” Fernando frowned before he smiled and gently clapped Caprice on the back. “See ya Cee, and thanks.”

Molly chuckled a little. “So am I. Unless I know something that someone likes or wants, I usually end up giving people gift cards, which only exist in the muggle world…” She hummed a little. “I’ll come up with something before Sunday.”

“Like I said, I don’t know.” He smiled, looking down at the girl before Fernando reached out and took her hand in his, holding it in between them, his eyes drifting up to watch the movie. “Maybe I can stay here tonight. I’ll just stick my leg in my sleeping bag.”

“That would be me. I see Caprice has spoken of me?”

Caprice stared at Fernando as if he were 800 different kinds of crazy. “Duh! Why the hell are you still here talking to me? Are you waiting for me to dress up like a crab and start singing ‘kiss the girl’?”

“Okay chill. I’ll do it. I just wanted a second opinion before I did anything stupid.”

“You gave me two really wonderful gifts tonight. I don’t think I’ll be able to top them,” she grinned a little. “But I will try my best to get you something nice. Any clues as to what you would like?”

“Honestly I suck at birthdays and Christmas, I never know what to say.” He replied, shaking his head at the girl.

Fernando’s eyes widened as suddenly a large, brightly coloured package dropped in front of him, followed by a series of letters, waking up the half asleep boy and knocking over his orange juice in the process. 

“What the fuck...”

She chuckled a little. “Well, it still looks like you take care of it.” She took her own spoon and took a bite of the ice cream. “Amazing birthday, really…” Her cheeks turned a little red, and she ate another bite. “What do you want to do for your birthday? It’s only a couple days away.”

“I have no clue. My parents sent me an owl asking me that last week.” He replied, giving a small shrug as he absentmindedly tapped his spoon against his bottom lip. “At least we’re both at a fair advantage with birthdays in that we both had no time.”

Molly nudged him back and leaned up to kiss his cheek. “I try to leave my hair down as much as I can, but I put it up when I am studying, reading, writing a lot… which is why I always keep a hair tie on my wrist. The convenience of it.”

“That makes sense. I leave mine out because I’m lazy. And I already have to deal with a prosthetic leg, I’m not worrying about my hair whilst I’m at it.” Grinning Fernando picked up his spoon before he dipped it into the ice cream, eating a small amount. “So, good birthday?”

“Sounds like it could get annoying.” She felt lucky that she didn’t have too much fuss over her, though when she was little, a lot of her family tried to get her to do magic. It obviously failed. At least they never really brought it up, though she was sure that was just because her dad was a bit sensitive to it. “Well, as long as you’re happier without it. That’s what matters, right?” She grinned. “No worries. I have about a million of those. I am happy to share. I like your hair both ways, if you were ever curious. Down or up.”

“Just a little.” He replied, giving a small shrug as he pulled on a strand of hair that was pulled a little too tight against his head. “You do huh? I shall remember that.” Grinning he nudged Molly slightly before he shrugged. “I generally keep it up for exams or when I’m working. Hygiene reasons obviously.”

“Sometimes I wish I was an only child…” she shrugged a little. “That’s a pretty valid reason to not want another kid, but it means you must have gotten a lot of attention, she smiled up at him. “Oh, you don’t have to worry about that. I really have nobody to tell. And it’s not my business to tell people about that.” She pulled her arm back from where it rested on his waist, and she offered him the hair tie around her wrist. “Do you want this? You keep pushing your hair back.”

“Yeah from parents, doctors, nurses, everyone, it was annoying.” Rolling his eyes the boy glanced down at Molly, giving a small shrug. “Cutting it off was one of the best things because it eliminated the doctors appointments. I hate people fussing over me.” When Molly extended his hand he gave her a sheepish smile, hanging his head slightly before he nodded and took it, pulling his hair up into a messy bun. “Thanks, I keep loosing mine.”
