i'm going to be taking a short hiatus from roleplaying and from this entire community just so that i can have some time to focus on myself and what i need from my life. i’m not sure how long this hiatus is going to last -- seriously it could last like two days and i’ll be back, or it could be more than that, who knows -- but i’m hoping this is just a hiatus. i love most of this community with all of my heart, but i love myself more. bye for now.

Recently a video was circling around and it was a YouTuber who was upset because she was being used in a smut rp. So she made this video asking people to stop because she’s uncomfortable so people started coming forward with people who have expressed discomfort in being used as a faceclaim. Here are the names I’ve seen.

I’ve added links where I’ve been able to find proof or remember seeing that they’re uncomfortable before this whole fiasco started. Feel free to share this post for reference or to let your followers know.

how do you think of ideas for an roleplay?

Truly, I think it just boils down to pushing myself to read/watch a variety of things I’d never otherwise watch? Whether that be a movie, or a short novel, or even just the odd video on Youtube –  maybe it’s because I tend to format my roleplays as a proper ‘writing a novel with other people’ experience, and I plan out the full extent of that story before even advertising – but, as a general thing, I take inspiration from media-based content? 

Of course, then I spend a few hours making the concept my own, and making the plot roleplayable, and every idea I use will always have some form of my own creative spin on it. But, it always starts with someone else’s play at inspiration.

Like, for example, I re-watched SPACE QUEST a few days ago, and I still have about 15 roleplay ideas floating around in my head? And, actually, I’m going to make a little list of all the different things I’ve taken direct inspiration from, and haven’t made a roleplay in result of. So, if you’re looking for a plot idea, or just want a nifty little burst of inspiration, maybe these could inspire some unique roleplay plots? Either way, I hope it helps!

hello! i am doing well, thank you! i’ve actually seen you in the tags, but i never had the chance to check you out before. at first glance, i’m drawn by not only your url, but your icon, and those are extremely important factors, especially when possible applicants see you in the tags. so, well done on that! i don’t normally like this theme, but i love how you’ve used it! the color scheme is absolutely beautiful, and they really go with the graphics, so again, well done on that! your plot was extremely well written, honestly, but i’d suggest taking the bit about how you’re ‘terrible at writing plots’ out of your plot summary. i think that it’s unnecessary, because you are wonderful at writing plots, truly. your rule about aesthetics, while important in some aspects, really discourages people from using underused faceclaims, so i would change that up a bit. your application is fairly simple, but it also allows people to go further into their characters, which i think is amazing, and also helps you when it comes time for acceptance. overall, this looks like a wonderful and fairly simple group, and i wish you the best of luck with it! i’m definitely adding you to my recs!
