What you should know about me:

I am basically crit-everything. I criticize because I think critically about everything.

I should make my stance on AI a bit more clear. AI is not the problem, what we can do with AI and what AI can eat is the problem. We need better laws, infrastructure around AI, that kind of thing. AI isn't putting itself into everything, that's humans. So frothing at the mouth when you hear someone is using AI for literally anything is kind of stupid. Now, if they're using ai for some kind of artistic pursuit and making money off of it, that's a problem. But if someone is just organizing documents or putting filters on photos or some shit that photoshop could already DO... maybe reconsider if you're overreacting. Someone who infodumps to an AI and asks it to make documents out of it is still doing all the creative work, they're just making something else do the tedious bits that honestly just don't matter most of the time. Sure, it might be that you can think harder about your project while writing it down, but if you're like me, you might lose all your enthusiasm if you have to do too much writing without writing the actual story. Someone using an ai generated image as a reference might be dumb because it doesn't understand perspective or how hair should go, but like, I've looked for references of poses I need and I can usually only find skinny people. In order to find the exact pose or outfit I want on a plus size person of the size I want, I usually have to cut and paste a bunch of things together and then do my best. So I understand if someone is like 'I can't find this exact thing I need to look at' and they just use it as a sort of reference. But you cannot just generate a thing and then say it's yours and sell it. You just can't. Make funny little fandom memes and shit in ai and I don't care. As long as you mark it as such and you're just doing shit to have fun, play with whatever you want. My hard line is 'only use it if you need it' or 'only use it to have fun'. If you generated a whole book and did no editing whatsoever, no rewriting or reworking, that book is not yours. It belongs to nobody. It's nothing. This has always been my stance, though people were reacting so violently to ai that it kind of made me a little worried for their mental health. AI is not a person, it's not hurting you. Businesses that make AI are. Try going against the ceo's and their efforts to set up datacenters and such and just chill out about anyone using them, that's my stance. And no, I don't use AI to make fanworks.

I am a crit about everything franchise or fandom, but do not identify with Anti or Proship, but I am decidedly against proship, comship, darkship-- mostly because they have no real boundaries. They don't draw the line anywhere. They don't draw it at 'depiction but not endorsement' or anywhere else. (Don't come into my inbox to say I'm wrong, when you romanticize an act, that is an endorsement of it, whether you say 'I want this in real life' or 'I don't want this in real life' if you write that shit and post it, that's endorsement. There's a very big difference between a rape scene in a horror story that's supposed to be horrifying and a rape scene in a romance story that's supposed to be sexy.) And 'anti' is just an old term that people used because they didn't understand what it actually was and self-defined that way because Proships would call them that like, in an insulting way. (An insult I took as a badge of pride) is something people do a lot and sometimes without thinking or doing research, because they don't think that thing has history if they haven't heard of it before. (I certainly hadn't heard of it at the time.)

I am anti-racism in fandom and anti-pedophilia and anti-abuse romanticization and anti-incest romanticization. I'm an incestuous csa survivor who 'coped' with darkfic and was encouranged to think that what happened to me was perfectly normal, which led to a good eight years or so of nearly-catatonic depression. It wasn't until I realized my brain was literally eating itself trying to fix the damage I was doing to it that I actually got better and was able to do more than sit in bed and stare at something.

I am anti-harassment because I know many of these people shipping these things are just like me when I was 14-20 or so, confused and depressed and wanting the engagement and wanting to believe nothing bad actually happened to them. So desperate that we'll tear ourselves apart on the inside just to stay in the 'community' that feels like it's supporting us because we have literally nothing outside of that. (Doesn't excuse it, but harassment is just going to make minors and young adults like that go the opposite direction. The brain naturally defaults to defensiveness to protect itself. All you'll really do with harassment is push them farther down the rabbit hole.) But 'harassment' is often thrown around when it isn't the case, where proshippers are concerned. So let me make something clear: A bunch of individual people telling you that what you ship is gross, is not harassment. Harassment is a bunch of people who know each other getting together to send you targeted messages or a singular person doing the same. There's also the severity of the messages to consider, It's not five different people all sending you 'wow you're gross', it's five different people sending you 'you should kys'. That can count as harassment because of the severity of the message. But telling someone to 'choke' is not a death threat or telling you to kys.

My stance on booktok and such is that the romance genre is filled with garbage and you shouldn't have to leave the genre you prefer just to get an enjoyable story. My stance is that authors need to step up and instead of publishing smutfest sensationalism, should write actual stories which happen to be romances. (Specifically talking about my niche which is human woman x nonhuman man.) And I also believe that people who grew up in the internet age struggling to read the old formatting styles in books shouldn't be blamed for that. Hell, I had trouble reading through those sometimes and I was born BEFORE the internet really became popular and affordable. (And I DEVOURED books, any books, like one an hour if it was slim and one every two days if it wasn't. That doesn't mean the formatting didn't annoy my brain.)

Also, I think we are living in a capitalist dystopia and you literally cannot be a perfectly good person here, but that doesn't mean you give up, throw up your hands and quit trying to even be decent.

It's amazing that game developers see, constantly, that people love games with different origins or class storylines and yet keep funneling people into the same story with a bunch of different classes instead of a bunch of different stories with a bunch of different classes that they can advance over time.

And yeah 'too much work' or whatever, but would it be? In FFXIV they give you a way to do every single class on one character, but it's fucking annoying grinding, so I usually end up making two or three characters at a time, when I play the free trial. To play all my favorites. Because the main storyline levels you up on one job and the other can be leveled if you go out and do quests specifically just to level it. So it's possible to do this by just making the process something that takes a long time to achieve. If you just mixed in some Soulslike mechanics, like having to perfectly execute a combo or defeat a powerful enemy of a specific type or whatever, you could really mix it up enough that people don't feel the need to do what I do in ffxiv. And you don't even need that much story. That much dialogue. You just need to show the character with their weapon and fighting style, then people pointing to the next objective or whatever. And just the main story bits are tangled up in your mentor teaching you and describing the challenge coming up. Explaining the cultural things. You don't need to have a bunch of characters to chat with, because that has nothing to do with your discipline or your job.

And if we MUST have a connecting narrative, it can just be something like 'leveling up till we're a master so we can become a teacher ourselves' with added in challenges that happen every now and again that have story in them. Not something world shaking or whatever. Just something small and manageable.

If we must have a hero narrative, just make us one of many. Not 'the one' which is why you don't get to make any choices and even if you did, it wouldn't matter.

I just really want to go through Archer and Lancer and Machinist with a bunch of background worldbuilding and Guild Mentors and challenges with actual challenge instead of just tapping a button to watch an effect go off, etc.

But mostly I just want to have a Weaver narrative where we slowly become a renowned designer and have to make uniforms for mercenary companies and personal armies and celebrities and adventurers and shit where our rivals have character and we have a real challenge in defeating them because you actually have to design something workable somehow.

Like, not just fighters, also crafters, but also other things. Like give me a 'job' where I can be an artist but most of it is about getting inspiration by learning about past things and reading personal stories in old journals and etc etc etc. We can just have some of them for people who like story. Some for people who like character, some for people who like worldbuilding-- you don't have to do everything at once.

This prediction needs to be set apart from the others. (I'm typing more and more to try and see how much my arm can handle after my injury, I think I'm almost healed.)

I think Deltarune and Undertale are specifically game experiences for *children with violent or aberrant tendencies*.

Children who want to hurt others, are treated to a wonderful magical place filled with monsters trying to kill them, but they've got such magnetic personalities, don't you want to get closer instead? Feel bad that they're trapped in terrible circumstances? Children introduced to scenarios where they can choose to be as violent as they please and they'll only be harming inanimate objects given new sentience and not 'real people' but the objects have developed interesting personalities so wouldn't you want to befriend them instead? Feel bad for their horrible circumstances?

The only way to end the game is to help them all deal with their problems. Not just Kris, but also Susie, Noelle, Berdly and basically every other kid in the game.

The others might've already dealt with some of their stuff and therefore are only hanging around (as programs) to fill out the world for a bit longer for everyone who hasn't, which might be why some of them seem kind of one-note unless something exciting happens where their 'program' based off of the kid who used to be there, has to guess what to do. Or none of them are real except Kris, Susie, Noelle, Berdly and Ralsei. Possibly Asriel. Asriel got out because he figured out his shit and dealt with it early. But basically these characters are just 'roles' so they might not even be those kids in reality.

My main thought with this particular theory, is like. Under the very worst circumstances where your very life is threatened, can you stick to nonviolence? If you've gone through years of therapy and nobody can tell if it worked because you haven't been put in a situation where it could be tested, it might be alright to put them in a situation where they think there'll be no consequences and see what happens. Especially if they slowly learn that the game REMEMBERS what they do and therefore surprise consequences! You'd be able to see if they killed Toriel and then turned back time because they regretted it. Or if they just did a geno route and restarted the game by selling their soul and stuff like that. It'd probably have really fascinating psychological connotations for any number of actions you took, based on WHY you took them. Geno Route could have 'well, they were killing human children. They were bad people. If I didn't kill them all, it's possible another kid could fall after me and die, too.' Which would be seen as somewhat positive, even if still violent. The child is thinking of others and trying to do the right thing, even if it's not exactly what they wanted them to do. And the Normal route could have 'Well, it was set up in the beginning to have 'ACT' being the 'good' thing, so I just chose those options as many times as I had to and assumed that was the game. Obviously attacking was bad, or they wouldn't have framed it that way' and this child is trying to conform to rules and do what's expected but isn't exactly vibing on empathy/sympathy/compassion frameworks. Man, I wonder if you could actually make a game that's a diagnostic tool for mental disorders, neurodivergence and stuff and still make it fun...

Hey so it just occurred to me that the code you put in that door to fight the knight is like 1225, right? People are saying it's a December Holiday, but um. It's literally Christmas. Krismas. Kris' nickname from Rudy? And possibly their whole family, I'm not sure, but he definitely called Kris that like he'd done it a hundred times.

So it could mean either Dess *or* Kris. If we're going by puns and such, since 12/25 is Christmas and not JUST a December Holiday.

Another prediction, Noelle did something to Dess. Maybe not on purpose but also maybe entirely on purpose. Noelle seems like someone who suffers from derealization, and aside from her being in an actual video game, she might've thought she could break herself from whatever 'delusion' she was having by doing a horrible thing that couldn't be taken back, so when Dess was fine afterwards, she'd know it was all fake. But then Dess *wasn't* fine afterwards.

It wouldn't make Noelle evil, because she basically just wanted to live in reality, to the point that even reality wasn't real enough for her and that might be the lesson on 'too much light can also be bad and blind you to the truth' that Toby is trying to tell.

It would make sense if, on the weird route, we're being very mean to Noelle because we've got Dess' soul and this version of her is very vengeful and wants Noelle to break the game to get herself back and punish her sister. Whereas on the normal route, she actually wants to protect Noelle and forgives her and sees it not as her fault, but as a sickness she was just trying to break free from.

I'll just make a prediction here that Noelle is definitely going to make a dark world in chapter 6, which is why you don't have a chapter 6 in the weird route. Not only did she leave, but she kind of had to leave because the way she was acting, she didn't really care much about anything but finding out 'the truth' in the weird route. Going somewhere and seeing the edge of the world, etc. So in chapter 6 we see her a different kind of unhinged where she recreates a version of hometown where Dess is there, her father isn't sick and her mother is nice. And Susie is going to have to destroy it to save everyone. That's probably the thing that's going to fuck Susie up. She has to, or the roaring. But also, why does Noelle's dream have to end if Susie's doesn't, in castle town? I think this is the 'pivotal event' that will fuck up Susie big time and lead to some kind of break in Susie's mind or character that leads into what's going to happen in chapter 7. Hell maybe she just stays with Noelle and fights Kris and Ralsei to send them back to the Castle and Lightner world respectively, because she just can't do it.

I'm pretty sure at this point that Deltarune having only one ending just means that there is only one true 'end' and everything else is part of a loop or something you have to go through to get the true 'end'.

You can go through the whole game once and that's an 'ending' but it's not a true 'end' because it's not the end of the story.

You can go through it twice, three times, and you still won't reach the true 'end' because you haven't figured out what it is you need to reach it, yet. When you finally get to that end, it's the only true 'end' so there was only one ending. But in reality there will be like five to ten endings, if you count things that are only slightly different.

Deltarune Superposition

Funny how many videos I've watched and nobody has mentioned a superposition being the reason that darkners can remember being alive for years and have met each other and such.

When you create the fountain, they have always existed. When you seal it, they have never existed or cease to exist. Basically, when you create a fountain, you're creating their entire world, including their timeline, not just them at that moment. There's another option, that when lightners aren't around, dark worlds have time moving SUPER fast, so they end up having full lives before anyone can even get in there.

But I do think it's a superposition. Schrodinger's cat. They exist or they do not. And you can't just create or destroy matter or energy or whatever, but they're probably dark matter, dark energy? Something like that? So essentially they are a reflection of the people who own them and what they think of the people around them and also themselves. Just a big bunch of soup being scooped up and molded into a world, taking shape as it always was, always has. When you seal the fountain, they cease to exist but maybe they never existed in that reality or maybe they just stop existing right now and their history still exists. They can go to each other's dark worlds as long as they're fulfilling a role that fits, at least for a while. So what's to say they didn't all exist at the same time in quantum mechanics terms and they all sent envoys to each other and visited with each other before even a single fountain got sealed? The other option is that they've had consciousness the whole time, it's just that they were inanimate objects and that consciousness was limited to taking in the information of the world around them. Then, when given true consciousness, they remembered everything as if they lived it as themselves in the dark world, rather than being inanimate.

Fell through a hole, hurt my shoulder. Haven't been able to write. Even typing the small amount I need to to do other things online is making it ache, and it's been almost two weeks. Probably going to need another week or two to heal up. And now my other shoulder kind of hurts, or my neck anyway, because of the sling I was constantly wearing to take pressure off my injured shoulder.

My shoulder is better, but it still aches even if I don't do anything with it all day. I might type with it or do General small things with it, but not a whole lot and yet it still aches no matter what I do. So I'm thinking it's going to be at least another week before I can go full on all out with typing and it's starting to drive me a little bit insane that I can't just do whatever I want because if I go off and type a chapter, I might end up with more aches at night and not be able to sleep as well which will effect my healing...

Your mind, your morals, your... spirit?

it just occurred to me just now that we all assumed that he thought we were more like him because of the mark... you know? That patented pride/arrogance thing

I don't know if anyone else has come to this conclusion , I might have seen something before and just forgot but I don't think so?

What if he was asking if we just, *were* a spirit?

Or, what if he thought that being in contact with the fade was making us more like a spirit, more close to our own pure nature. And he was trying to decide what our nature was and whether or not the Mark was effecting it

We only have confirmation that elves were once spirits but what if they assumed that everyone came from the fade or hell, what if they *knew* that they did?

So we have a couple of options here:

Are you a spirit and you just don't remember that you're a spirit ? Are you now beginning to remember what your nature is and so you are becoming something other than what I think physical people are?

Are you becoming more like a spirit/reverting to a primordial state where your own spirit nature is becoming more prominent?

Has the mark made you more like a spirit and thus more pure and that is why you can surprise me by doing things that are actually just and kind, when physical people are usually muddied up by a whole bunch of different things, so if you are doing these things maybe that means that your nature is being effected and you are becoming more purely something like kindness or Justice?

It's not necessarily that he's asking if The Inquisitor is becoming like him. I mean in a manner of speaking, it could be, but he's not literally asking if they have a little piece of him in them, maybe. He might just be asking whether or not that person is becoming more Spirit like or if they are a spirit.

It's weird, but I think people think I say 'my stories are not self inserts' because I hate self-inserts or think they're cringe, based on the way people say things sometimes in the cases it comes up. But I just don't like miscategorization. Nik is an archetype. Nova and all the rest of my OC's are archetypes. They are the type of female character I never saw growing up that me and other neurodivergent people could've looked up to or identified with or whatever. They might not be done well, who knows, but the reason I don't want to be labeled with SI is because SI has its own tropes that are NOT in my story. If you come to my story expecting it to be at least 10% cracky and find it's got no crack in it whatsoever, you might get disappointed or irritated. Just like that time I read a story that was marked as a certain pairing but was actually a different one I didn't like because they were trying to drive traffic to the story. I hate that shit.

Why is it that I am still seeing 'I've been possessed' in isekai Manhua/Manhwa/Manga instead of 'I've possessed someone's body' which is accurate? I mean it's been years, is nobody explaining this to them? Is nobody letting them know it's incorrect? It's got such a huge fanbase and so many translators in this genre and manhua/manhwa are pretty hot aren't they? So why hasn't anybody told them this? I can't because I have no earthly idea how. But there's people who are in those discords right? To possess is to take something. To be possessed is to have someone take you. 'I've been possessed' means there is someone else in YOUR body. 'I've possessed someone' means you are in THEIR body. It's a small thing, but it reverses the whole meaning of the sentence. If you want something simpler then you can like, make up a new term. People would probably be fine with it. 'I've been isekai'd' is pretty popular for people in forums. Or 'Bodyslide' or even something like 'taken possession of' which makes it clearer what you're saying. 'I've taken possession of someone's body' is a bit awkward but WAY better than 'I've been possessed' when you mean the literal opposite.

And if the idea is that the body took possession of your soul, like if that's the cultural understanding of like, a body reached out and grabbed a soul and it happened to be yours, then you would still not say 'I'm possessed' or 'I've been possessed'. In English as I know it, the soul is the person and therefore the willpower. A body cannot possess anything, firstly because it's not able to occupy spiritual space like a soul can and secondly because the body is just a vessel. Even if a body reaches out and grabs a soul, it won't be an act of willpower and therefore not a possession-- especially as the body is the thing to be inhabited and not the soul. The thing being inhabited is possessed. Not the thing inhabiting.

Look, I'm not annoyed that Stella freezes up in crisis situations. I'm annoyed that Stella puts herself and others into those situations, even when there's a possible mountain lion roaming around sick, possibly rabid and attacking people. Told from the mouth of an actual person-- TWO actual people who saw it with their own eyes.

She treats people like garbage. She waves off everything they say as if they're all stupid and have nothing important to say. (Not even mentioning how she treated Duke in her video where she apparently made him look like a paranoid yokel.)

She then freezes up in the middle of the danger that she dragged them into. That is what annoys me.

She's flawed, flaws are good in characters. But that doesn't mean I have to like her character just because flaws are good. I can handle Kaneeka's flaws and Reese's flaws and hell, even Dr. Kelly's flaws because they're all well-meaning in their own way. (Dr. Kelly is wrong, but like, she said he started having episodes when he hit puberty. Violent episodes. Can you imagine your kid turning into a monster and attacking you out of nowhere because of a mood swing??? She handled it VERY wrong but at least I can see the logic and progression of events there. And she's drinking the tea so we don't even know if Sybil 'convinced' her it would be for the best or not.) Stella is the only one actively putting other people in danger because she won't go to therapy and KNOWS that's why she's doing it and still continues anyway. (Some people are arguing there are no therapists in the Holler so I thought I'd put an edited note here. They have phones and the internet and a lot of psychiatrists and therapists do telehealth appointments. She has no excuse for not seeking therapy if that's the only barrier.) Kaneeka never waves off what you say except at the beginning when she's just being a rational person like 'what you saw was probably not magic and something else' but she never denies it was SOMETHING dangerous. She just diminishes it because it frightens her and she's absolutely certain magic isn't real so then what is it? But as soon as she has evidence or eyewitness accounts, she's like damn something is out there, even if she doesn't think it's magic. Reese is hard to convince not to kill dr. kelly because he feels ACTIVELY IN DANGER and is living a hellish life he wants to escape, not because he's inconsiderate or is taking undue risks. He might be running on pure adrenaline, but he's also only feeling that afraid because his mother is POISONING him. So, reasonable. Avery is a delight and has done nothing wrong ever in their life, as far as I can tell. They're a bit... bad at picking people to be friends with but that's about it. And I wouldn't even say Julius was doing anything wrong until people started trying to steal shit from him. Bo was literally there to steal back something that wasn't theirs, right? Or did he plant the baby into the pumpkin that was already growing because I think he said it was a seed? Stella is the only person in the cast who I cannot understand to some extent because she is not being considerate of other people at all, 0%. She doesn't worry for you and Duke when you say there's a mountain lion that attacked you. She doesn't worry for Gretchen despite being so 'attached' to her, she doesn't worry about shit. And that's what REALLY gets me. She puts an elderly pug in REGULAR danger to get her thrills and chills.

This doesn't include Sybil who can choke and die. She is just someone who must be defeated. So she doesn't count as 'cast member' to me, she's 'antagonist' The kids are dumb kids, they are gonna act dumb. Oscar is sweet and while he can sometimes be overprotective or go insane and forget his daughter exists, that's mostly because he's living inside of a Hellmouth.

I don't really care if Jax is trans in either direction, but can we call trans people by the pronouns they're going by? Everyone calling him a 'she' because they SUSPECT he's a transwoman is kind of icky. You're not really supposed to do that. I mean if you're writing an au or something go wild. But I've seen people totally refusing to call him by his current pronouns. You call trans people by the pronouns they ask you to. And he has expressed no desire to be called 'she' yet. It's disrespectful and it makes me feel something like worms under the skin. Especially since I'm kind of a they/them who likes to be called by 'she' because I'm so used to it and I just kind of identify with the concept of a She/Her nonbinary and I'd kind of be fine with being called They/Them if someone ASKED. But not if they didn't? Like if someone started calling me 'they' for no reason out of nowhere and refused to use she/her for me because I'm nonbinary and therefore I MUST go by the nonbinary pronouns... I mean fuck, he might be a he/him transwoman, there's no way to know yet. So maybe like, don't. And even if he is a transwoman who goes by she/her later, he isn't YET? Maybe it's just me, but it feels like when people insist someone must be gay to play gay people or whatever and therefore demanding actors reveal all their secrets like sexual orientation and cis/trans status and shit instead of just accepting that maybe people in hollywood's first priority should be protecting themselves? Feels like kind of the same thing.

And yes I AM aware it's a fictional character. But it's really indicative of people's general thoughts on this kind of thing, isn't it.
