             EXACTLY WHO was this guy? and how did he get in? she really could have sworn that she had locked the doors and windows. he claimed he was a ghost but they don’t exist. so maybe he was just a really good lockpick? in that case, she would have to up her security system to avoid any future incidents like this. glaring at him, she reached for the handcuffs she kept on her person. “ghosts don’t exist and you’re dumb if you think i’m gonna fall for that crap,” faith snorted. she’s dealt with criminals telling her the most outrageous lies. whatever other lies he comes up with, she was pretty sure she’s heard it before. and even though this guy was breaking and entering, seeing him pull the pouty face with the doe eyes was enough to make her falter for a moment, even though she’s supposed to be a hardened detective. she shook that off and went to try and put the handcuffs on him, only for the handcuffs to go through his hand. “what the fuck?” she breathed out before trying again. and again. and again. but no matter what she did, the handcuffs just kept passing through his hands like it was air. and when she tried to touch his hands, it was the same result. “ghosts don’t exist though?” she mumbled to herself, blue eyes wide with shock and a bit of fear as she looked at him. there was no reasonable explanation for his hands to have objects pass through like it was made out of air. “are you actually, a real live ghost? like for real? or am i just hallucinating because i was drugged or something?”

there’s nothing better than being proven right, that was a trait of flynn’s that had followed him into the afterlife -- if this could be titled as such. after all, it was the same life, just entirely more irritating. and being alive had been irritating enough. he smirks a little as he notes her reaction, as the pin drops and she realises that he’s not as full of shit as she first thought. “what sort of drugs would assure you hallucinated ghosts?” he asks, tilting his head; disbelief overwhelming his features. maybe there was something, but he knew what he was -- he wasn’t going to dignify any other suggestion with a legitimate response. “i’m a real, live ghost. well -- live in whatever way you can consider me. more like a real, dead ghost -- i’m very dead. i died here, actually. didn’t they say that? fucking realtors,” he retorts, more to himself than anyone else; tutting his little heart out. with his english accent, the word realtors sounds unusually wrong -- but he’d been there long enough to use the words; far too long, in his humble opinion. “there’s others, too. but i’m only welcoming one. shame on you for disrespecting me so much!” he got it though. deep deep down, he understood. arms still cross against his chest, however and his gaze diverts elsewhere and his nose raises as if he’s truly insulted -- which a part of him is. “got far more than you bargained for, here, didn’t you, darling?”

morgan, fabian & hayden.

a look of pride stained morgan’s expression as fabian questioned them, allowing him to take note of the food lying on the tray. the two boys had been busy fixing up a variety of different options, all of which would be eaten at some point; so it didn’t feel like a waste. with sausages, bacon and eggs on one plate, syrupy pancakes on another, a bowl of fruit, a mountain of croissants and lots of toast on the menu, both boys were sure they’d hit one of hayden’s cravings that morning, hopefully. “we are,” fabian assures with a smile, it only growing as he notes how much his boyfriend perks up. the three of them getting this time together was practically unheard of. although understandable, each of their careers or career aims taking up a lot of their time and energy, that’s not to say either man had to like it.  “you deserved a treat,” morgan decides firmly, finally paying attention to the initial question that had fallen from hayden’s lips; though it’s more of a general reminder than anything else. “anything peak your interest, baby?” he adds on for good measure, gazing over at him, so excited for the morning ahead of them; he’s practically buzzing.

       HIS BOYFRIEND’S giggle makes him beam like the sun, his dimples more prominent as he regarded marlon. he truly was the luckiest man to be able to call marlon his; to be able to hold him the way that he did, to love him and to have himself be the one whom marlon came home to. “i wish you were there to see it,” he admitted. “maybe next time,” he suggested with a grin. sadly, he knew that there would almost certainly be a next time, given how often he’s had to deal with those men belittling or undermining him. it was just a thing that he had to live with. his fingers ran through marlon’s curls, loving the way the soft locks felt against his skin. vik grinned. “that’s true. i would hate to be one of those men when i’m older,” he declared, shuddering at the thought. “luckily, i have you by my side to make sure i never become close-minded like those jerks.” he holds marlon close to him, nuzzling his face into the other’s neck. “and we wouldn’t want that,” he murmured. “it always breaks my heart if you’re upset or crying, baby. i never want to see that smile leave your angelic face.”

“maybe next time,” he repeats with a gentle nod, and though he hates the implication; that it’s sure to happen again and again, but he was hardly surprised, despite how disappointed he might’ve felt. he wished he could be with viktor always; his cheerleader on the side lines, his defender over all things old and ignorant. leaning into every touch, lashes fluttering as he allows the soft pleasure to overpower him, he keeps himself as close to his boyfriend as possible. the man meant the world to him and nobody on the planet made him feel more comfortable or at home. maybe it was because viktor was his home, and how lucky he was for that to be his truth. “you’d never become one of those jerks, baby -- with me by your side or not. but you’re right, we always have each other. keeping each other on the straight and narrow.” he beams so softly, holding him as close to his frame as he can; fingers splayed against the small of his back, grounding him there with him and keeping him close at the same time. “i feel the same way about you, vik. never want you to be sad or to cry, you’re too special for all of that. should be happy always.”

         “MUCH BETTER,” he nodded, beaming up at the male. “i will buy you the biggest and finest bottle of prosecco that i can find.” money wasn’t an issue for him; it never really was. besides, he considered ezra to be one of his friends so he wouldn’t mind splurging for the other male. his eyes lit up at the mention of indian food and he nodded eagerly. his stomach growled as he thought of the cuisine he hadn’t had in a while. “sounds like a plan,” he agreed. “god, i haven’t had biryani in forever and i’m just dying to eat some again…”

nodding his head he once at their newfound deal, a smile build by fondness curls the corners of his lips upward; a twinkle in his eye full of cheek hard to dismiss. everyone had heard the term unlikely friends and that’s what he expected him and lucien were. on paper, he friendship might’ve not made much sense, but beyond that -- in their actual state of reality; it definitely did. all i can think about is tandoori chicken, he licks his lips for dramatic effect mainly, but the mere thought of it does have him drooling a little. “let’s get going, i’m fucking starving.”

        HE SMILED over at miah’s assurances, grateful for it. while he didn’t mind some sugarcoating every now and then, he would almost always prefer the truth over it. at least miah seemed genuine and he trusted the other to not lie to him. he lets out a snort of laughter at his friend’s declarations, an amused look crossing his features. “if that’s the case, then you’re doing a wonderful job,” wes grinned. he wouldn’t know if keeping your parents humble was the job of their children. but he certainly knew that it wasn’t the children’s job to be the responsible ones. “he’s definitely not a bad person. gus is… he’s always had a kind heart, you know? i’m proud of what he’s accomplished.” his brother’s band was becoming more and more successful with every passing day and he was thrilled for him. “i just hope i don’t do anything to fuck up our relationship even more,” he admitted. 

he waggles his brows playfully, hopeful that his words were taken as a joke, which is what he’d intended. truth be told, he barely had any responsibilities in his life. his father was a diamond, and there’s nothing about him that he’d change. despite being a single father with a career that took up all of his time, he’d worked so hard to both provide for them as a family, but also raise miah all by himself; without much outside influence. “i’m sure you are,” he smiles gently, happy to listen to him talk about his brother or -- anything and anyone for that matter. “you won’t, wes. it’s clear he matters to you, and you won’t let him forget that, will you? life is....well -- it can be intense and tough, but if you really want something; you’ll get it. and if you both want a relationship? it’ll happen. i have no doubt about it, man.”

         SHE GENTLY wiped away more of his tears with the pad of her thumb. not for the first time that night, her heart broke when he admitted that she was the first person he’s ever trusted his whole life. she couldn’t imagine living her whole life not trusting anyone, but she couldn’t blame him. his ability was unique and although she’s never encountered anyone like him before, she did believe him and she wanted nothing more than to help him. he meant so much to her and she would do anything and everything possible to make sure that he won’t have to suffer alone. it hurts her so much to know how alone he’s been his whole life and she vowed silently to herself that she would make sure that he would never feel that way ever again. “i’m honoured to be someone that you trust,” she whispered, smiling softly back at him. “you’re never going to be alone again, gus, i promise you that. i may not understand completely what you’re going through, but i’m here for you and i will never let you be alone or feel that way ever again,” she promised, leaning down to press a kiss to his forehead. she was going to message andy as soon as possible. but for now, she would stay with gus and keep him occupied and hopefully take his mind off things. “sounds good,” she smiled, taking out her phone and opened the food delivery app. “i’m craving like… burgers and fries or pizza and wings,” she mused. “what would you prefer? my treat.” 

he knew his life would never be easy in so many words, but he wanted to do his best to make it fun and worthwhile just the same. rae was the most wonderful person he’d ever met in his life; a ray of sunlight that he’d always needed but never thought deserving of. trusting didn’t come easy for gus and he doubted that was much of a surprise; so when it happened -- when he really looked at someone and felt as if he could be vulnerable with them, expose himself and all his thoughts, feelings and abilities with them; it was unlikely that he ever saw them leaving his life. no, he definitely never saw them leaving his life. although his smile displays some sadness, it’s nothing compared to what it had been before. “burgers and fries,” there’s barely a pause between her question and his answer, chuckling a little once he’s realized that. “sorry -- burgers and fries are just my favourite thing in my life, the reason i’m alive.” he’s teasing, mainly. but he does love good food. it’s always a good sign; catching him eating or hearing him agree to eat. it meant he was feeling fine; better than ever, even. “do you know of any good places for that? i’m open to trying somewhere new,” he decides with a tilt of his head. curiosity peaked -- as it always was when he was around the young woman.
