I hate that I have to research sellers on Etsy to make sure I don’t get scammed on crochet patterns because they’re stolen or AI. Granted I can usually spot the AI ones but come on, Etsy. You can do better.

I should probably do an art dump for everything I actually did over the past few months. School has been killing me, but I’m almost done! Here are some paintings I did of my dogs and my WIP for Kingdom of Ash.

I just want to mention that despite this being my art blog, I stand with the people defending basic human rights. I don’t think anyone should have to be scared of going to school or work or doing basic human things because they can potentially be taken from their families.

Ohhh boy. Aedion is my fav MC in Throne of Glass and I wanted to do him justice. The Lord of the North is also in the background for homage to Terrasen. Three weeks worth of on and off work.

As I color in my art I look up references for colors mostly. Some of my recent searches:

I can envision things in my head but usually my color theory is off for lights and shadows and I tend to use a lot more colors than I should. I also always add shadows and lights to skin first because it’s the hardest for me and if I have to scrap the light source because I can’t get it right on the skin then it’s easier than reshadowing everything else too.

I drew Manon for my TOG reread. I wanted to paint the brutality of her first chapter! ‘Wrong kind of witch.’

Nesta Archeron from the ACOTAR series. My favourite character in the world. I took liberties with her crown from the trove by using part of the mask on the ACOSF cover. I also still can’t draw braids.
