‘PrinceofDarkness666′
The infamous handle that Junghwa used in most of his gaming setups. There was his computer, his consoles, his portables and then there was the general collection of various games. Where did he get the time and money to game? Well, time was a given. He was a vampire and as for money, startup investments did fairly well and he basically lived off the dividends he got from them. The money fueled his whaling addiction in games and his hoarding. His gaming toggle was a macabre and rather funny pun on the fact that he was a vampire and the 6s were a funny reference to hell. He essentially was the Prince of the games he played.
With a lot of time and a lot of money on his hands, he could dedicate resources into building and forming some of the most powerful teams to do massive damage. He often played support characters and built them to be extreme damage hitters at the same time. Junghwa often played puzzle and horror games, and preferred games where one could tank massive damage.
Currently, Junghwa’s game of choice was Phasmophobia and the many times he’d played, he’d always come out on top even if he was kind of annoying. He sat in a comfy chair in his apartment in front of his computer, tapping away rapidly and singing a tune on voice chat. “Alright, are we going in? Everyone good, ready?” he asked, in the voice chat, still humming along to a random song in his head (Ghostbusters.)
Honestly if gamers in the online community knew him, they probably knew him from games where he often whaled and popped in to do extreme damage like Overwatch, Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto and his personal fave: Deadpool.
minhyun’s life was very cute and paste. it’s predictable down to the last hour, the last minute. he spends his days attending classes for his major, afternoons are filled to shifts at the cafe. and his nights? well they’re dedicated to easy meals and hours of gaming. he knows that he should theoretically spend his nights studying or doing his homework rather than cramming in between helping customers with their ridiculously bitter or sweet drinks at the cafe. but minhyun is stubborn and likes to unwind until the early hours of the morning rather than stressing himself out over a textbook. it’s the way he’s always been, even in high school when his parents would believe him sleeping but instead he was hunched over his pc, lights and voice kept low.
having his own apartment means he gets to choose where his priorities lie, as evidence in the cheap table holding his expensive TV and handful of consoles, sitting right next to his secondhand desk holding the PC he built with extra hours making americanos during morning rush. the best part about having his own apartment means he doesn’t have to anyone hovering over his shoulder as he sits down for another night marathoning through whatever game he’s currently obsessed with. he likes them all, cycling through FPS to horror and everything in between. lately though he’s been on a horror kick, running through little nightmares before moving right into phasmophobia.
being an avid gamer means you see a lot of usernames, handles that are glaringly familiar through lobbies and parties. princeofdarkness666 is one he’s encountered a few times during his overwatch days, early hour mornings where he was cursing under his breath as he got sniped again and again, always from hard to find spots and always by that same name. it frustrated him at first, was definitely pissed off. he’d spent the next few games trying his best to get the drop on the other but time and time again he was found, foiled, and left with the load in screen, still struggling to figure out what the hell had just happened to him. what minhyun didn’t expect, even from himself, was feeling oddly endeared as he died time and time again, round after round, instead of holding a grudge, he found himself typing out a quick message for the other, asking him for pointers. although minhyun is stupidly competetive, especially about games, he finds himself also impressed and respecting the skills of those are are truly better than him.
it took a while to get the other to accept his invitations to various games but eventually he did, surprising even minhyun who was determined but slowly realizing the other might not be interested in being “friends”. but apparently this stubborn nature pays off at least a bit as he sits down at his desk, hyunckules popping up as he signs into his account and pulls up phasmophobia loading as settles into the lobby. “i’m definitely ready to get started.” he says into his headphones, fingers finding the familiar keys. “think today’s the day you’re finally going to beat this game?”
way back home.
@feyboa
another friday, another night of minhyun sprawled out all over his worn in couch, snacks spread out on the table in front of him and his favorite pillow tucked underneath his head. he’s been in the same position for the last few hours, parked in front of the tv putting a few more hours into his newest favorite game. the sun had set a few hours ago but minhyun has been too lazy and far too invested in his game to get up and turn the lights on. so as he moves through another level only to get scared shitless by yet another creepy monster does he finally his save and turn the console off. sighing, minhyun pushes himself up into a sitting position, wincing at how sore he finds himself after hours of sitting awkwardly on a couch that barely offers up support as it is.
his growling stomach is what motivates him to finally leaving the sinking cushion on the right that he finds to be his favorite. he doesn’t go far though, just to the fridge in search of the large roll of gimbap his mother had sent him home with just the night before. prize in hand, he falls back into his spot but instead of picking the controller back up, he abandons it in favor of scrolling through social media on his phone as he eats. minutes turn into an hour as he scrolls aimlessly, pausing only long enough to like a picture or two and to watch a cute cat video before moving on. what causes him to pause is a photo of boa.
he had met boa after two years of living and suffering through university housing. fed up, minhyun had spent the next few weeks looking through ad after ad, hoping for the perfect roommate. and he was pleasantly surprised to find boa. although the other had been a few years older than minhyun, they had gotten along great, enough for minhyun to grow to care for boa as an older brother.
and that hadn’t changed even when boa had disappeared. minhyun had spent a month worried sick to his stomach, calling, texting and contacting all of their shared acquaintances only to come up empty handed time and time again. he’d been debating on contacting the police and report boa as a missing person, hesitating only because it wasn’t weird for boa to disappear for a few days to a week at a time. everytime he heard what sounded like footsteps out their front door, his eyes flickering up to the front door hoping to see boa slipping through it, but it never happened.
but right on the cusp of going to the police, boa had proven him wrong, sweeping into the front door of the apartment uninjured and looking healthier than he had in a while. minhyun had been shocked, unsure of how to act but just immensely relieved. it was all cut short when boa announced only minutes later that he found somewhere else to live and had packed up his things, leaving minhyun with his shocked feelings and an empty second bedroom.
now he sits here, looking at a photo of boa wearing an outfit that is much more than what minhyun racks up in student debt each semester. it’s a great photo, even minhyun can admit that as he sits there, an unfamiliar feeling simmering in the pit of his stomach. he should let it go, be happy that boa is happy and doing whatever it is he’s doing now. but he just has so many pent up emotions about this, so many unanswered questions that he can’t help but to open his messages, typing out a quick greeting to boa, unsure of the other will even answer him. but he’s feeling fearless for the moment, so he hits send and settles back onto the couch, too perplexed to even finish his food.
wow i’m seriously late for acceptances but hello! i’m rai and this is my soft human boy, minhyun. he knows nothing about anything outside of university assignments, coffee, and videogames. he has a vast collection and knowledge of horror movies but believes the supernatural to be fake (oh poor sweet idiot). i’m excited to plot with all of you and to widen minhyun’s world view by a lot. he’s soft and squishy and easily damaged (so please do your worst!) below the cut you’ll find the normal list of information about minhyun. you can also find his profile, bio, and plots here. though i’ll admit i’m still working on all of his pages beside his profile, so please bear with me! if you’d like to plot outside of tumblr’s tiny boxes you can find me on discord @ sweet tangerine#3252
