Gundam Astaroth Nero Custom
Design inspired by Nero from DMC series.
2 HG Astaroth was used to make most of the body look symmetrical. Also used modified 30MM weapon sets.
I noticed that the “eyes” on the 30MFantasy kits are sandwiched between two halves of a head.
So I felt like drilling through to them and cementing a couple rods from the eye-part’s own runner into the head itself, as a makeshift means of light-piping.
For a first attempt at this sort of thing, it’s not that bad. I probably should have chosen different spots to glue the rods into, though…
SDCS Shin Getter 1
I underestimated the amount of work needed to be done on this kit. Just like the SDCS Great Mazinger, the open hands have to be puttied up due to hollow gaps on the palms, cover up the bottom of the feet, and puttied up the drills on the side of the head.
Thought about sharpening the arm blades, but decided against it.
When it comes to painting, the masking off the parts for metallic green paint is pretty tedious.
Overall, this is a project that has been left on the wayside for quite a while, and I'm happy with the end result.
SDCS Great Mazinger
Didn't do much with this kit aside from just putty up the hollow gaps on the backpack and hands. When it comes to painting the kit, I thought of Metal Build color scheme so Mr Color paints were used were:
Metallic blue on the arms, legs, and face parts. Black on the body and waist. Silver was used as an undercoat for red and yellow parts while leaving some parts like on the head, neck, upper arms, thighs, and abdomen as it is. The same goes for its accessories.
Gunpla Pics with: Proto Aerial
Test-bed unit for Gund-Arm system before becoming Gundam Aerial.
HGFC Shining Gundam
Normal Form
Shining Form
There were a few things I could say about this kit, which is that it is nice of them to give it a separate head for Shining Gundam's different modes. The leg panels were a little loose during Shining mode, and the holster is a bit loose to hold the beam sabers, especially the shorter one.
With this kit, all I did was painted areas that were supposed to be gold, did a little bit of detail painting, and a bit of weathering on the armour.
Overall, this is a decent kit to build if you collecting main Gundam suits or to just pass the time.
MG Gundam Astray Red Frame
Basic straight build of a classic Astray MG with a little bit painting on the fingers. This variant of MG Astray kit is Premium Bandai.
It still baffles me that this Red Frame is a P-Bandai, not the Kai variant.
MG Jegan Type-D (First Deployment Type)
First ever Jegan kit ever built, and it's really solid of a master grade kit.
Other than that, this kit comes with an extra beam rifle minus the clear camera part.
This is a good grunt MS kit to build and be part of your collection. But this version of the Jegan is P-Bandai.
Gundam Dark Justice Knight (Custom Build)
Custom build from the HGBD Gundam Justice Knight. Cut the spikes on the the kit, remove the shoulder fins and modify the weapons a bit. The cape pieces were made out of thin acrylic and painted over with clear red.
This was suppose to be my final 2024 build but kinda forgot to post it.
Other Blazing Lah Gundam
I didn't want to waste a good custom, so I used the EG Lah Gundam's body and used the core parts from the Blazing Gundam, and modified the booster gauntlets to fit on the arms nicely.
MG Wing Gundam Ver.Ka
I got nothing much to say about this kit other than it being a basic Master Grade kit. It can do basic poses and it transforms into 'bird-mode' (Im not gonna do that since this is a commission build). But one thing I want to point out is that it can't hold the buster rifle properly.
Gundam Calibarn (PS5) Custom Beam Cannon
No change on the base kit itself, aside from just change up some the color. The main focus of this build is the beam cannon. Repurpose parts from HG L-Gaim modify it to fit the Quadra Thruster parts.
MG Impulse Gundam Blanche
Variant of the Master Grade Impulse Gundam. The build of this kit is not much different from the MG Impulse Gundam aside from the backpack, Destiny R Silhouette. Accessories came with this kit is the same as MG Impulse with added beam cannons on its back that can be hand-held. It has two different head types one is typical Impulse head and one is with a mono-eye without a V-fin.
On a side note, the standing pilot figure of Elsa Weiss doesn't come with this kit. Instead, it came from MG Gundam Astray Blue Frame D model kit.
Overall, this kit is really solid despite its loose polycap on the waist joint that connects to the upper torso. By the way, this is a Premium Bandai kit. Good luck with finding one at a good price.
Weekend Build: Figurise Standard Ultraman Blazar
I don't usually build Ultraman kits, but when I heard this model kit was announced, I decided to pick it up. Blazar's stripes were made through 'insert molding' where multiple color plastic combine into one piece. Although some stripes still require stickers.
Posing the model kit is a joy. Able to have it to recreate Blazar's signature poses like his battle stance, even the manual shows how to do it.
Overall, it's a fun kit to build, especially if you like Ultraman Blazar.
HG RX-78-2 Gundam (Beyond Global) G3 Color
The color scheme is based of Hajime Katoki's rendition of the G3.
Weekend Build: HGUC Gundam GP00 (Engage Zero)
Simple yet interesting build. The mixture of Gundam GP series and Zeon inspired design gave it a somewhat feminine figure. Change the color of the Booster Pack to green later found out its concept color was same as its average backpack but I digress.
This kit is a fun leisure build, and the Booster Pack is an added variety for display. Highly recommended despite being a Premium Bandai kit.
MG GM Command (Space Type)
A very simple build for a specialized MS design. Did some creative liberties with some excess parts that came with the kit and cut the shin pieces in half. There's more accessories like bull-up machine gun, beam saber effects and pre-posed fingers. Recommended kit despite being a Premium Bandai kit.
