Here's something a little different - this was my piece for @fffanthology! I chose FF5, the game that dared to ask the question, "What if a tree was evil?"

Make no mistake, this bonkers little game packed all the excitement and tragedy you expect from a Final Fantasy, and for ages had a reputation as one of the more difficult titles to master because of the complex job system. I spent many hours playing FF5 as a kid, so it was fun to revisit that world.

It is... finally time.... to post my @fffanthology piece. the leftover sales opened up today so here's a link for ya https://fffanthology.bigcartel.com/

I wanted to do more, actually, I have a draft for a second page with the boys reading the big diary around the campfire, but I've been STRUGGLING with art so this was the only one I managed to do. And I had a great time doing it still! I chose all my favorite character designs from each of the four race/classes (plus the default clavat girl but I do genuinely love her).

I drew this back in 2023, but I adore it still. I only just noticed that the diary pages can be traced into a heart shape which honestly?? accidental but my genuine feelings for this game. I was always compelled by it though I could never play co-op mode with my brother (we could change that now with the Switch version but I keep forgetting that and I've got a solo ludonarrative going on).

but for real, anyone wanna form a Crystal Chronicles party with me?
