“I know, it definitely is. But I’m sure someone could eat it. As for your question, I have no idea. It might? But then again there’s this lady that often visits the bakery and orders carrot cake yet she still wears glasses so, perhaps not?”
“well y’know, some people just don’t grow out of their childhood – even i still watch saturday morning cartoons.”
“Fair point. I definitely have my moments as well. The name is Jace, by the way. I don’t think I’ve seen you before?”

“Maybe you could teach me!” Suki gasped with excitement at the thought. “You’re a wonderful driver, plus you’ll be with me to keep an eye on things and I’m sure my parents would feel better having you around. At least I think so. They talk about you a lot, actually, when they think I’m not around. I guess they truly think you’re a great friend. But of course I already knew that.” She gave him a beaming smile, even if her heart ached a bit at the word ‘friend’
Suki was looking up at the menu, honestly not to sure what kind of drink she wanted. Did she even like any of these drinks. “Um, maybe something fruity?” She asked to Jace, hoping he had an idea of what she liked. Anything fruity did sound pretty good. When her gaze shifted over to the boy, someone caught her attention from the cover of her eye. Soon Suki was focused on the girl who seemed to keep eying Jace up and down, a playful smile crawling upon her soft features. Suki’s hand squeezed the boys for a moment, soon pulling him a bit closer in fear if he saw her, there would go all hope of Suki keeping the boys attention. “Um, h-hey, you’ve got something on her cheek there.” Her free hand soon shut up, pretending to remove whatever it was Suki just lied about being on his cheek with her thumb. She pulled her face closer to his, as if she was studying it to make sure she had gotten it off, her thumb stroking over his cheek before she smiled. “Sorry, um, you’re good now. I think it was just a piece of fuzz or something.”
Jace’s eyes widened slightly at Suki’s idea, not all too sure if that were a good idea. What with his plans of starting his courses soon he didn’t even know if he would have the time for it, let alone the skill to actually teach her. Sure, Jace often helped others but perhaps this went above his head for now? “I uh, I don’t think that’s such a good idea Suki.” He bit his lower lip briefly, dark hues skidding over hers as he felt bad for turning down the idea as she seemed rather enthusiastic. “I think an actual licensed driving instructor might be more qualified for that.” Though Jace couldn’t help but smile a little at the mention of her parents talking about him so highly. The male often took pride in other people their parents appreciating him coming over.
“Something fruity,” his brows rose lightly as his lips curved into a smile and he nodded softly towards the other. When he was about to place their order however, Jace got distracted by Suki’s soft hand squeezing his and pulling him closer. Chocolate hues studied her briefly, trying to figure out her intentions but not yet speaking up as he waited for her to speak instead. Bending down lightly as his face was pulled closer, his brows furrowed lightly as his lips curved into a small smile amused by the girl’s intentions. When he felt the small caress against his cheek, his smile grew wider. “All gone?” A chuckle escaped his lips as he didn’t move away just yet, somehow trying to figure out the oddity of the situation or perhaps why Suki’s hand had lingered for longer than normal.
“ten years of travel and this place still looks the same, i really hope this doesn’t mean the people didn’t change too.”
“Ten years is a long time, I’m sure people must’ve changed. Perhaps not all, but I know a lot of them have. But I guess that’s mostly because ten years ago myself and my friends were all still kids.”
“ nah man, i don’t —- i don’t think that’s even physically possible? ”
“Why not? Two carrot cakes... I’m sure someone must be able to eat those in one sitting. Not me, but someone.”
“I leave for two hours and you do this?!”
“The look on your face is so worth it though!”

A simple act of friends holding hands shouldn’t have made Suki’s cheeks grow so warm, but it did and she wished with all her might that her silly feelings would disappear before they became too unbearable. “You’re welcome.” Of course, she still felt slightly embarrassed by looking too deeply into his request. “I’m sorry. I just…no one seems to believe I can drive again. Like I’m a fragile glass egg that needs to be kept in a ‘ do not touch ‘ stone box. It’s…tiring.” This was the first time Suki truly spoke up about how she felt about being so closely watched. She could understand that her family would worry every time she left the house, wondering if she would even return this time. But with the accident being over a year ago, she prayed they’d trust her a bit more.
Of course she couldn’t hold back the smile when she felt his hand squeeze hers. She returned the favor, her eyes looking over him for a brief moment. At the mention of the past memory, Suki spoke her usual phrase of, “I did?” It wouldn’t surprise her to be honest. She seemed to be an excitable person, and most likely wanting Jace to experience her excitement in any way possible. Once they entered the building, her eye roamed around the whole place, taking in every little detail that she could. Her mind lived off of the small things in life now, wondering if she remembered the chip of the paint in the corner of the room. “Should we get something to drink,” She asked Jace, her lips coming close to his ear in case he couldn’t hear her over the noise.
“No, I understand,” Jiyoon spoke in a soft tone, giving the other a light smile. He could understand her parents view on it, but the fact that she didn’t want to be treated like a child was entirely understandable as well. Jace was pretty sure he wouldn’t have liked it either when people would take away privileges like that. “Maybe I can try and convince them as well? Maybe if I accompany you, they won’t be as worried? I’m sure you can find some way to work around it,” He bumped against her lightly, as if it would reassure her somehow. Jace knew any type of skinship with the girl would’ve comforted him, he could only hope so much vice-versa.
“You did,” he nodded, his smile returning once again. It was somehow amusing to him at some time how he seemed to know her better than she did herself. It was confusing it some sort of way, and how awful it might be, Jace somehow enjoyed that fact. Walking into the bar, Jace felt his head already nodding to the rhythm of some cover band. “Great idea,” the boy nodded, tugging the other along towards the counter while their hands were still intertwined. “What would you like? My treat of course.”

what would you do during a zombie apocalypse?
Try and protect those I love but also trying to be realistic and not to make stupid decisions? I’m not too sure how well that would go though. I am not exactly skilled with weapons, but I guess my fists might be of use? Though, thinking about, long range weapons would probably be most convenient...
