“I Find A Good Place To Live”
Keep this sigil with you while you’re house hunting or going on house/apartment tours
hello! i've been trying to research magic, but unfortunately most books i find are specific wicca, which i'm not interested in. do you have any book reccomendations that arent wicca centric? thank you! i love your blog :^)
Oh heckin yes I do My amazon wishlist is literally like six pages long… ALL BOOKS
WARNING: This Is Going To Be Extremely Long!
First though I want to note that while I 100% understand your feelings about the Wicca stuff (being a very NOT Wiccan Witch), not all books that are Wicca leaning are bad! I’ve gotten loads of useful information from books that tended to be a little new agey. That’s where being objective comes in! With ANY book, you should take it with a grain of salt, and some with a whole shaker. But it’s up to you to pay attention to misinformation and conflation, and to know how to do research to prove or disprove that something in a book you read is true or not. Does that make sense??
Anywho, a couple of books that are still kind of “Wicca-y” but great:
Grimoire of the Green Witch
The Goodly Spellbook (This one is an INCREDIBLY AWESOME REFERENCE)
The Modern Guide To Witchcraft (Written By Skye Alexander who seems to mass produce books, so need some good fact checking here)
The Modern Witchcraft SpellBook (Written By Skye Alexander who seems to mass produce books, so need some good fact checking here)
The Witches Broom (LOTS OF SALT but good basic history)
The Witches Athame (LOTS OF SALT but good basic history)
The Witches Mirror (LOTS OF SALT but good basic history)
Cottage Witchery (This author is pretty good about keeping away but there’s still some slips)
Practical Protection Magick (This author is pretty good about keeping away but there’s still some slips)
The Big Book of Practical Spells (Written by Judika Illes, who did the Encyclopedia of 5,000 Spells; it’s a good book, but there’s too much Cultural appropriation for my taste. Tread Lightly, and bring that shaker I was talking about)
Those are all books from my personal collection that I would recommend! Now as for the Non-Wicca Books, Let’s dive in! Not all of these have I read or owned, and they are in no particular order. You’ll notice most of them relate to “Traditional Witchcraft” or West Country, because that is where my practice is focused.

“Those Who I Love Receive Good Fortune”
Many times I have been asked for a luck sigil meant to be cast on other people, and here you go!
You can either go the basic method of drawing this on a picture of your target, or drawing this on something with your targets full name and date of birth
OR
Because of the way I worded this sigil, you can simply hold this sigil against your heart and think about the people you hold dear in your life, people that deserve better than what life has been handing them. I recommend doing this method every night before bed, and you can keep this sigil close to you if you like.
So, I was finally able to do a tarot read and the moon has been all over my life lately and so I wondered if I was being contacted by a night deity. I was hoping for Nyx and I pulled and got a no. Well not just a no, I got the Tower.
Shocked, I pulled again, this time asking if any night deity was reaching out. Another strong no.
Confused and then hit it me.
My vibes for lack of a better term right now have been shit for a while. Always tired or sad or just not right. So today I took a salt bath to try and clear some negative energy that seemed to be carrying. I take a lot of baths but after twenty minutes in this one, I was nauseous and dizzy. I have never reacted to a bath like that before.
Then it all locks into place. So I ask is there a trickster spirit? The answer is yes.
So now I’m fuming and about to banish some damned trickster spirit out of my house.
Glad I bought a big ass bag of sea salt.
Get the Fuck Out Room Spray
a (maybe a little silly, but effective godsdamnit) warding spray for getting bullshit the fuck out of your space. particularly effective for use after having unwanted visitors.
Materials:
an empty spray bottle
blessed/charged water of your choosing (i recommend storm water or waning moon water)
herbs of your choosing - anything associated with banishing, warding off negativity, and cleansing - black salt, burdock, eucalyptus, etc, I also used lemongrass bc it's spread around the home "to ward off snakes" which i thought was appropriate
Instructions:
put all that shit in a jar
shake that shit up
like aggressively shake it, we are not talking about friendly vibes here peeps
yell obscenities at the bullshit as you spray your space, preferably with the windows open. spray from the inside out. shake your fist at the bullshit as it leaves. no I am not kidding.
Disney has trademarked the names of a bunch of Norse gods.
This is not okay.
These gods do not belong to Disney. They do not belong to Marvel. They belong to themselves and themselves alone, along with all those who worship them as the deities they are.
Thor, Loki, Odin, etc., these gods were not thought up by anyone at Disney or Marvel.
Stan Lee knew how sacred these gods are to those who follow many different Pagan traditions, how sacred they are to Scandinavian cultures to whom they are so important.
My best friend follows the Norse gods. She will be so bloody offended when she finds out about this. These are her gods, this is her religion. These are the deities she worships, the gods she prays to, the traditions she follows. She enjoys the Marvel portrayals of these characters, but they are separate from the gods she believes in.
Disney is stepping on her religion in an effort to gain more and more money.
Stan Lee did not trademark these names. He understood their importance and their sacred meaning. He was respectful enough not to do this.
These names are not the intellectual property of anyone. Neither the original names in runes nor the anglicised names that are used in Marvel's works.
They were around well before us (a whole ass millennium before us), and they will be around well after the greedy bastards who have decided to trademark religious symbols are dust.
It should be common sense and common courtesy not to trademark the names of religious figures, which all of these gods and goddesses are, even if you do not believe in them.
mod is not christian but you would never see me trademark jesus ffs it crosses a Line
If you agree, please sign and share the petition. If you can, please chip in to get this petition everywhere it can possibly go.
It is f**king disgusting that Disney is doing this.
It needs to stop.
Stop Disney Trademarking The Names of Norse Gods
Oh, and one more thing.
FUCK DISNEY.
i want to throw up ive included a bunch of tags trying to get the norse pagans attention bc im sure they'll want in on this if u have an in with the norse paganism community on tumblr pls do tag everyone u can
im wondering now if they've done this to the greek gods too ughh that would show even more of a disregard for other people's religious views and past people's religious views ughhhh ok imma go look at the toilet bowl for a bit 😅pls sign it'd mean the world to me
@thepastelpriestess prooobably something to boost in the Hellenist community as well...
@systlin
There are also people who SHARE A LEGAL NAME with these deities who are already facing consequences where using their own name is forbidden by services' copyright filters.
Plus it obvs affects anyone who creates anything related to this pantheon: Artisans, writers...
Honestly striking anyone who uses their names could completely bury all information relating to them in every region Disney has taken out the trademark (including online info hosted in any of those regions). Which has some pretty fucking worrying broader implications, honestly.
Welcome to the cyberpunk dystopian present!

If you’re currently trapped in an abusive situation here is a list of resources that may be able to help you. I made the link generically witchy to not arouse suspicion if your abuser checks your internet history, but otherwise I recommend checking these resources on incognito mode. (The link only works on desktop mode)
Is there any chance you could link your tutorials? I can't find them on mobile
well you can search on my blog or general tumblr search for ‘making sigils with strange’ if these links don’t work
method 1: Saturn square
method 2: letter shaping
method 3: sigil wheel
“Curses and Hexes Cast Upon Me Return To Their Source”
Take this sigil and burn it into ash. Then add those ashes to your bath and soak in that for a while. I recommend using epsom salts with mint and eucalyptus in your bath along with the ashes, but it’s not required.
