I got fed up of not being able to follow or reply to people because my blog was a secondary blog, so Iām moving it to somewhere it can be the primary blog. However, there doesnāt seem to be any way of doing this easily (thanks, Tumblr!), so it might take a while to transfer everything over as I think Iām gonna have to reblog it all. Yay, fun.

Okay one of these days I'm going to move this blog to a separate account so I can actually reply from here because it's driving me nuts having it as a secondary blog. ANYWAY. Replies from @r0sebud934 and @justaprocessofreadjustments: Now that you mention it, seems totally obvious that I need to be up on my front foot, especially if I want the trebles to actually go under rather than to the side. I don't know how I forgot that, but then, it's been a really long time since we used to do this as a drill in class. (Like, seven years.) So I will try doing that and see what happens and with any luck it'll help. As for being out at dance... Ehhh, I'm not really as out at class as I am here. I introduced myself as Finn to everyone, which isn't a name I use everywhere; I'd imagined that after my email exchange with the teachers they'd think I was a guy and when they met me they'd express surprise and it would provide me with the perfect opportunity to come out. But that didn't happen because neither of them said anything. And then a couple of weeks ago I had the perfect chance to come out because someone asked me if Finn was short for anything (e.g. Fionnuala) and I said, no, it's a nickname, my name's technically Miriam, and they asked why I called myself Finn. Which would've been the perfect moment! Instead I used my cover story about it originating as the username "delorfinde" that I used online for years, which is the explanation I used to give before I came out. Sooooo... I may be very explicitly out here, but this hasn't transferred to class. Once I'm dancing with the university society it will, I think, as I'm very out at uni and also it's a very trans-friendly place (possibly unlike my hometown). But right now I've been avoiding the subject. :/
I definitely used to be better at these and now they're a mess, especially when it's the right foot doing the actual trebles. Any tips?

DAMN. MY LIFE IS A LIE. also how did it take me this many years of playing folk music to figure that out? (by "this many" I mean like ten) this does explain a lot, though, and will make finding sets with it in a lot easier (replies @r0sebud934 and @littlemissfrisbee who I can't tag for some reason.)

Next time I'm being insecure and have convinced myself my legs are fat and lumpy, remind me to look at these pictures as proof of the exact opposite. These can also serve as a baseline for my attempts to tone my legs. Muscles right now are fairly mediocre but we can fix that. Ask me for updated pics in a couple of months.
I'm not sure if I've lost weight or if the mirror angle today was just really flattering, but taking photos while practising earlier made me realise my legs are actually ... still pretty slim? Like no, I do not have the same size thighs as I did when I was fourteen, but nobody would expect me to. For an adult, though, my legs are a pretty damn good shape, and with a bit of work and muscle they could look really nice. So @ self, stop talking crap about your legs and stop being so insecure about them. They might not work properly but they LOOK great. (If this sounds self-obsessed, the context is actually that I've been super negative towards my legs recently due to dance clothes not fitting me the way they used to because I was barely fifteen when I left dance and apparently I thought I'd somehow stay the same size forever.)

Ah yes a glamorous practice space consisting of a piece of lino I have to roll up whenever Iām not using it, and a mirror I āborrowedā from the front room. Also I already made a hole in said piece of lino and Iāve used it literally once :/

Finally got a floor where I'm allowed to wear hard shoes! Although I already made a tiny rip in it, so I'm not sure how long it'll last...
Currently working with a more experienced friend to try and resurrect the universityās Irish Dance society for the upcoming academic year ā not an easy task. Looked through the CUSU groups directory to try and find out if we had a logo and this is what I found.
Well. Thatās awful. Taking suggestions for how to improve it, although obviously step one is to get rid of the Comic Sans. Any ideas?

I also did a treble reel in the pub just for the hell of it, and then had cramp in my thigh because I hadnāt warmed up. But people seemed to enjoy it soā¦ worth it.
(Although several were like, I didnāt know you danced? So apparently word hasnāt got out yet. It will now though. Iām surprised there arenāt more Irish dancers on this course, if Iām honest.)
