Sooooooooooooooooooo I'm still mad and its weird as hell that I can still go on my tumblr account on mobile but ugh. Im too weak and i need to be have tumblr for downtime so. Ive just gone ahead and remade - 22degreehalo.tumblr.com. Tbh I'm rly lazy and i dont see how else to solve this situation so this is prob permanent. Tbph I'm honestly mad that I'm immediately returning back to a website that fucked up my account so badly but I don't really have any choice lol so here. Lllllllllllllllllllllllmaooooooooooooo So tumblr apparently got worried about a POTENTIAL security breach r.e. old accounts and made everyone go through the 'forgot ur password' thing to reset before they can log in. Except thats based on the email u used to sign up. Which I dont have access to anymore. (Its so old i forgot how to do the password, and its connected to a student account i dont have access to anymore.) And I cant get access bc the verification form requires things like 'email addresses uve sent emails to recently' which I have not done. Im trying to change the associated email in my tumblr account on my mobike browser (cant seem to do it in the app; for some reason can log in on mobile fine???) But it keeps telling me the passwords wrong. Its not. And tumblrs grand response to ppl in my position??? 'You can always make a new account!!!' Srry but i cant deal w this right now I am sooooooooo fucking mad

Honestly, I think the whole “don’t pay the writers” thing boils down to the notion that everybody thinks they can write. It’s the old saw about the novelist at a cocktail party having to hear someone say, for the millionth time, “I’d love to write a book someday.”

Someone–Stephen King? Pretty sure I saw this in a Stephen King foreword–once said they’d like to say to a brain surgeon, “Boy, I’d love to do brain surgery someday.”

We treat “the ability to put words into a sentence” like it’s just the same as “the ability to form a coherent narrative that engenders a variety of emotions within the reader and puts them in a scene and shows them what they didn’t see before”.

And that’s like me drawing a stick figure and saying I’m an artist.

Writers are constantly devalued because everyone thinks they have a book in them and don’t realize the level of skill and commitment it takes to finish even a short story, much less a whole book. 

This goes well beyond fandom, but man, I would’ve hoped fandom would know better.

So I got to do a phone interview for this graduate program and I think it went well!! I mean I was really tense, hope she didn’t notice how out of breath I was haha, but I managed to get most of what I wanted to say in for the ‘why do you want this opportunity’ question (should’ve said more about the program itself but I wasn’t sure if that would be another question) and the second question asked me to talk about a particular program/initiative done by the department which freaked me out for a moment until I realised I DID know one and could even give the name, even if I don’t know the details, so I just talked about that and how important it is and should be a v big priority for Australia and gave some general statements about how we’d handle it haha! My answers to the ‘Talk About A Time When You’ questions were kinda weak but under the circumstances I think I did well enough, I had an answer in mind and was able to talk about it smoothly and connect it back to the question, so I’m not really disappointed. Honestly mainly I’m just really pleased I could actually talk about that program, it only came to mind because I was reading the annual report in preparation so I’m so glad I got to show off that I know this stuff heh!!
