time is like wax dripping from a candleflame. in the moment, it is molten and falling, with the ability to transform into any shape.

then the moment is over, and it hits the table in the shape that it will always be.

it holds in its curves and contours the possibilities that were. it does not matter how blessed you are by luck, or the government, or some deity guiding your path with hands made of moonlight and wind.

it is impossible not to feel a little sad looking at that bit of wax. it is impossible not to think of all the wild forms that that bit of wax will never take.
