it is with a deeply heavy heart that i interrupt your school break with this tragic update. a recent bout of targeted attacks have been tied to the escape of seven death eaters in november, each resulting in a death. the victims have been named as algie longbottom, haskell bobbins, madam rosmerta, delphine kim, arthur weasley, amos diggory, and amelia bones. according to witness statements, the attacks were indeed coordinated, with each murder taking place with an utterance of the killing curse just as the clock struck midnight and took us into the new year.
our condolences go out to the families of the witches and wizards that we have lost.
full investigations are being made into these attacks, and the ministry is encouraging any and all witnesses to reach out to the department of magical law enforcement as soon as possible. this is not a matter they are taking lightly, as their head witch is amongst those taken.
