i have so few cogent thoughts about mcr in peru lmao the is-it-a-prequel vs is-it-not-a-prequel debate is fascinating. i'm leaning towards not a prequel so much as maybe an alternate timeline taking place roughly parallel to the first leg of the tour? like maybe we're just seeing things from a different angle now than we were witness to before. i think back to the prison cell on screen at i think philly? where the band and the dictator had cheesesteaks

previously my mcr/taylor swift comparison has been centered on the fandoms and their behavior rather than the artists themselves but after thinking about it more i do actually think it’s not totally unreasonable to argue that both performance wise and what they are giving to their most insane fans, mcr and taylor are in fact doing pretty similar things. what the difference between them boils down to is that the allure of taylor is safety while the allure of mcr is danger

Phone Transmission

When the transmitter on MCR’s website was still active, if you hit the flashing numbers in a certain way, it would reveal the code “017602783136.” What most of us didn’t realize was that it wasn’t just a string of numbers–it was also a phone number. If you called the number “1 760 278 3136,” you’d hear a muffled transmission. Some of the words are hard to make out, but the word “Draculoid” is quite clear. One fan realized that the recording contained Morse code, and translated it to the following:

…  ….  .  ..  …  …  ._  .._.  .  ._  ._  ._ S H E I S S A F E A A A or maybe SHE IS SAFE AAA

Another fan pointed out that “AAA” means “stop.” I don’t know how long this recording had been active, but it essentially told us the fate of the girl after the “SING” video.

At the time of writing this, you can actually still call the number and hear the transmission yourself. Or you can simply listen to the recording above!

the house always wins & midnights mayhem with me

today, 9/21/25, is the three year anniversary of my chem's second newark nj show in 2022. gerard wore this high roller vegas (maybe atlantic city lol) look with this gold and magenta duotone blazer. mikey wore a britney tank.

it is also the three year anniversary of taylor swift beginning her "midnights mayhem with me" (MMWM) series on tiktok to announce the track titles for midnights by "randomly" pulling numbers from a bingo cage and then picking up a red phone to speak the titles into... starting with track 13, mastermind.

and i just find it simply fascinating that these two events happen to have lined up with one another. i'll be back with more synchronicities ☎️🤡
