so sorry i disappeared for so long oops have some mcr
i miss her shitty little accent :(
the first time i listened to the black parade was at 2am while i sat in a emergency vet clinic waiting room bc one of my bunnies was refusing to eat and if you know anything about bunnies its that if they stop eating your done for
Vii this is an emergency my gf has to attend a mcr concert for her friend TODAY and we have never listened to a single song. Theyre gonna be playing the black parade album. What are the songs and factoids that she has to know to successfully larp #sos
OH MY GOD. First of I am terribly jealous second of I think the most important songs are probably "Welcome To The Black Parade", "Cancer", "Mama", "I Don’t Love You", "Teenagers", "Famous Last Words" but honestly she can just pick any song of the album if they ask her her favorite. Mine’s "House Of Wolves" but who cares.
As for the fact…
Gerard Way is the vocalist, Mikey Way is the bassist, Ray Toro and Frank are the guitarist these are the main guys, the drummer Bob unfortunately passed away.
tbp is a concept album that tells the story of a man who died of cancer, when he was a child his dad took him to see a marching so when he dies dead comes to him in the form of a black parade. There’s also some deeper lore about The Black Parade’s setting which is essentially a dictatorship named Draag.
the album was released in 2006.
the first note of "Welcome to the Black Parade" is the G note. The first 5 notes are G F# B E D
I don’t think she has to know THAT much just the basic storyline of the album, the members names, like one or two fun facts and be like "yuh im just a casual fan…" or smth🥹
Day 78-107 before I see mcr
So where the hell have I’ve been up to, none of u are asking, well I’ve been doing stuff. You see I wanted to live more and to not be stuck in my room for the summer, I usually don’t go out and I want to have new experiences they don’t have to be good or bad just new. Sleep is getting really weird and messing up a lot of things in my life and especially my eating schedule, and I haven’t been alert much less awake to do anything besides lay in my bed and battle sleep until 3pm.
I know this is a weird update for my MCR journey but like listening to the black parade and pretty much MCR’s whole discography makes me want to fight for my life again, to fully live for me and I want to do it. So to anyone who is reading these fully I want u to know there is so much more to life then what’s on your phone or the four walls in your room, it’s with the connections you make. Having friends and family that care about you and can be your unapologetic self around is when life truly feels like living and not surviving.
In less sappy news I can sing nearly all of the songs for tbp without making a mistake, but unfortunately I haven’t made any progress on the language yet. Stay tuned until another month passes when I update again
being an mcr fan will have you asking questions like:
"can the sociopolitical implications of the lltbp universe really be taken seriously when the band is simultaneously engaging in ticket price gouging and hyper-inflated merchandising practices?"
and
"do you think head nurse sylvia ever explored the most exalted vocalist's body in a psychosexual manner?"
