Some of the process of the banana slug piece I did recently.
Fire-eyed kitsune in the snowy mountains. Painted in Affinity Photo
Bunny landing from a little jump. Hoppy New Year (of the rabbit)!
Some of the things I'm proud of finishing this year. I've learned a lot about how to work more efficiently, consistently, and had practice at making myself stop fiddling and just let a piece go.
#Invertober2022 art prompts gave me an awesome opportunity to learn more about insect and arthropod anatomy too.
It's a tapir. They're fun animals. Definitely not horses, though.
One of my first attempts at playing with vectors in Affinity Designer
Still believe it should have won the mob vote.
I apologise for having a nuanced opinion on the Internet, but "The destruction of a vast network that many creators rely on to reach their audience is heartbreaking" and "Watching the multibillion-dollar impulsive purchase of an entitled man-child crash and burn within days of getting his hands on it is objectively funny" are two statements that can and should co-exist
For me, they must co-exist, because if I can’t have the latter, the former is unbearable. It’s the brutal satisfaction of watching your own crops burn and knowing that the invaders will starve.

I completed my 4 horses in my Carousel of Seasons mini collection. Affinity Photo, Huion graphics tablet
croc sketch
toad sketch. too tiny to do anything with it. Affinity Photo, Huion graphics tablet
Latest thing I’ve been working on. Digital painting using Affinity Photo and a Huion graphics tablet. Spring-themed entry in my Carousel of Seasons mini collection. Based on a Lipizzaner doing a capriole.
Soo... I'm still alive. :)
Health tanked, but I'm able to make art again. Swings and roundabouts, I guess.
I think I'll use this space more for sketches, practices, experiments, and smaller ideas than finished pieces still-- I'm working on a website that will showcase more polished works. I'm excited to get that going-- just need to learn css to make it work properly.
Clearing it out. Saving the space for later.
Goals
The purpose for setting this up is to make a habit of creating stuff again.
An artist who doesn’t create anything is hardly an artist…
I’m severely out of practice but I want to change that.
I hope a fresh start will be motivating, just like a fresh blank page and a new pencil often are.
One sketch, one day at a time.
I hope that can help me build my confidence back up while also acting as a sort of selective dream journal.
