theblueskywarrior:
call an ambulance! BUT NOT FOR ME
No matter the still lingering unfamiliarity and weirdness of the situation at hand, Hinoka does her best to remain focused at all times. Not only is she apparently supposed to be the experienced and knowledgeable one, the one turned to for help and advice and the one able to provide it - but when there are wounded innocents who had been attacked, there is only so much thinking required.
As the (un)lucky trio is being examined, however, the novelty factor forces its way back into the horizon - a large vehicle, not unlike the ambulance in some aspects but colored in mottled greens and grays, is headed towards them. As it appears in the corner of Hinoka’s eye, she twitches - prompting Sasha to take note of it as well, and she doesn’t like it one bit as she turns to her. “Let’s get these guys inside the ambulance.”
With a deep breath, she gestures Hinoka to come take a closer look at Jaxon’s shoulder. “Looks like the bullet missed his veins and arteries. Doesn’t discount the damage done to the muscles, but otherwise… he got lucky."
This isn’t a type of wound Hinoka is entirely familiar with, but she knows enough about wounds just in general to pretend she is and be able to make a solid judgment. "Mhm. Damage’s there for sure, but it’s not life-threatening. Just don’t move the shoulder too much, okay? Let’s get in the ambulance and get this stabilized,” she says to Jaxon.
At the same time, she cannot help but side-eye Sasha a little bit. The woman is clearly hiding something, and while Hinoka knows about privacy and all that, this isn’t the best time for such things. While Sasha can’t see, Hinoka shoots a meaningful look towards Brigid, Severa and Sylvain. It’s fine for now. But keep your eyes and ears open.
“I don’t feel lucky,” Jaxon grumbles, but he goes along with the doctor’s orders anyways. He winces as he leans against you guys for help, stumbling into the back of the ambulance. Alyve and Chris follow close behind. As soon as all three enter the vehicle, Sasha takes a step back and leans into Hinoka’s ear. “I’m going to handle whoever is coming for us. Since you’re experienced, could you stay here and look after these three?” She also looks at Brigid, Sylvain, and Severa. “I’d feel better if someone went with me, but… I don’t want to impose…”
Hinoka hesitates, but at the same time, she shakes her head slowly. “No one here is about to die, at least from what I can see. I would rather go with you.” Her gaze then follows Sasha’s, towards their three companion. “Though it would be good for someone to stay and take care of them.” She sighs. “If you really think I’m the best for that, I can, but am I really of more use here than there?”
“They need you,” Sasha insists, referring to the patients. “They need someone strong and knowledgeable to tell them everything’s ok. And who has more wisdom than you?”
Mmmmmmm. You for example? Oh Sasha, if only you knew.
Hinoka lets out a sigh. “Fine, I’ll stay if you think so.” She then turns to Brigid, Sylvain and Selena. “I’ve got things under control here. Help Sasha out there, just be careful.”

These scene before them was grizzly, with these three survivors being lucky to even be here, from the sounds of it...
And almost immediately, Sylvain is flirting with one of them. Lovely. She isn’t going anywhere near that situation. Brigid is dealing with some guy, and Hinoka is dealing with the third. Sasha is floating between all of them, and Severa just feels... useless. Perhaps that’s too harsh a word, but she’s not needed right now. They’ve got everything under control.
“I’ll go with you, Sasha.” She’s quick to listen in on that little conversation. Besides, with Hinoka being weary of Sasha, perhaps this is the chance Sev has to get close to the doctor and sus out any little secrets she’s got.
“These three have all got their hands full with caring for a patient. I ain’t got nothin’ to do.” Stepping next to the doctor and the princess, Severa shoots a subtle look. The doubt in the Hoshidan’s eyes is apparent. But, the look shot back communicates her plans fairly well. I got this, I’ll figure out if anything’s off. I’ll be fine. Hopefully, it’s enough to get Hinoka to calm down, although the feeling between the two is mutual.
Why the hell would Sasha, the experienced doctor, leave three wounded patients with someone less experienced?
“Just gimme a second and I’ll meet you over by the exit.” She gives a relaxed grin and a nod to the doctor, before looking to Hinoka.
“Sounds like a plan. Don’t take too long.” As the doctor starts to walk away, Severa maintains eye contact with Sasha, just to make sure she doesn’t look back.
“I bet she wants something inside the museum. Probably why we’re even here in the first place. She might not even be a real doctor.” A gentle fist to Hinoka’s shoulder, before sighing. “Stay safe. I’ll be back soon. And if I’m not, well... you three’ll be fine.” A playful chuckle, before jogging to catch up with Sasha.
This all felt fishy, and Severa’s bullshit detector was nearing its peak.
