2 New Mods for Paralives

I made 2 more mods!

Grandma's Comfort Soup:

Adds a dash of Sims 2 charm to Paralives by simply renaming "Chicken Noodle Soup" to "Grandma's Comfort Soup".

Now when the parafolk get sick, the game will suggest to have someone who is good at taking care of others to make Grandma's Comfort Soup, and that's what the interaction will say for them on the fridge too.

I'm pretty sure this meal is actually flagged as vegetarian so it didn't really make sense for it to be 'chicken' anyway. Besides, everyone deserves a nice soup to make them feel better, not only those who eat chicken!

This is literally just a visual text change, it doesn't impact anything else.

Jesters Don't Ignore Needs:

Stops Jesters from randomly ignoring either the hunger, bathroom, or hygiene need sometimes when they wake up.

I personally find that the needs don't impact gameplay enough for my liking so ignoring one entirely for no real reason is even worse. I don't think there's enough to do to completely ignore a major need all day in my opinion.

They can still ignore needs for other reasons such as a virus or being in the zone, just not because of their vibe only.

+ Realism is a Paralives modpack/collection that is designed to make gameplay feel more realistic and fix bugs to improve the overall gameplay experience.

There are still some mods I haven’t fully tested together yet, so feel free to let me know if you run into any incompatibilities!

It is recommended to start a new save file when using this modpack.

ABOUT THIS MODPACK

You will find new career paths with more realistic wages (new career wages still need to be tested) and additional job perks, as well as new skills, talents, vibes, relationship labels, interactions, icons, motives, radio stations, additional “wants” slots, more baby expenses, and new + faster + expanded number of Together Cards. It also introduces new cheats such as motherlode (for my fellow simmers), relationship editing and control over town events.

Para autonomy has been improved, and the requirement for the 7 points for your personality stats are now optional. Story progression is also less predictable, with only one Story Card generated at the end of the day. Wants no longer reset overnight.

Map View no longer has a filter, nights are darker, the zoom-out distance has been increased, objects no longer fade, and overall camera controls have been improved. Colors of emotion and needs have also been changed.

Paras no longer have outlines, the selected Para indicator has been removed, and hover effects on objects and Paras are disabled. The censor grid has also been removed, teen pregnancy is enabled (steam removed that mod) and there is now a 10% chance for intimacy to happen without protection.

In Build Mode, walls are more expensive and the grid is smaller, and you can now make walls as tall or as thick as you want.

In PAM, the modpack adds new skins (under skin details and/or makeup), new skin replacement for babies and teens, adds new outfit categories (party, swimwear, hot and cold weather outfits), adds new eyes and lashes options, adds more undershirt options, new pronoun options, and a new slider for male bottoms. Now you can also customize your Para after creation.

I made a mod that makes lip details fully customizable in Paralives

Yeah, you heard that right. Pick and choose highlights and shadows to create your own custom lips for your para, separate and compatible with lipsticks. It also allows modders to add their own custom lip masks that the player can choose from.

You can find it for download on the Workshop here.

Due to the lack of dependencies on the workshop, it's impossible to add new highlight and shadow options to these categories, so artists out there have my full permission to clone this mod and add their own new options so long as you link back to the original. I'd love to someday have one huge mod with a dozen different artists' skin detail options that folks can choose from...

This one is inspired by the all time favorite preset "Sumahama" by @/Wilderbees — hence the name "Parahama". 🥺

P.S. No DOF, MXAO or any other depth-based shader on this preset. I didn't get them to properly work for me yet.

Here (click) is a list of the shaders I select when installing ReShade, you won't be needing all of them and I'll put a screenshot below of exactly the shaders used in this preset, but with the link above you'll know in which pack they are - made it this way to make it easier for you to find everything!

SHORTCUTS LIST: (on/off is for what it is by default)

(off) Fake HDR — Numpad 5

(off) Bloom & Lens Flares — Numpad 7

(off) Chromatic Aberration (Prism) — Numpad 4

(off) Vignette — Numpad 4

P.S — The preset is pretty gameplay-friendly with these 4 shaders turned off, I've been playing with it myself just fine! 🫶

Also try turning on/off "Monocular Cues" and see if you like it. It's a shader that I don't use all the time (it makes a halo effect around stuff), it can get tiring to look at sometimes.

­ PRO TIP: I always adjust the "BloomAndLensFlares" shader to my needs, which is where the magic of this preset lies. The settings I'm uploading it with may be too strong or too light for some cases, so it really depends on your shot. Just mess with the "fBloomThreshold" slider a bit and see what I mean and, if you're feeling confident, mess with the "fBloomAmount" altogether.
