Finally made it to a region with one of my favorite classics. A Chrildren's Psychiatric Center; one you all, if not many, may recognize. Many will say the buildings and 600-acre plot of land contains erie vibes and ghostly encounters but we felt just at home. Don't get me wrong the history of this place can surely draw out your imagination, but the architectural beauty and the authentic remains drew my focus into my camera. This massive complex sported the reputation as one of the largest intact psychiatric hospitals in the United States. At one point the center was home to over 9,000 residents; contained 13 outpatient facilities and 11 residential programs for surrounding counties. This establishment came to life in 1927 and has been decaying for over 50 years. This weekend we'll be heading back up that way for a return visit. Enjoy; and happy exploring!
