white terrorists with guns and confederate flags breaking into the highest government building in the entire country, congressmen going into hiding, a bomb threat called out, and the police does less than nothing. unarmed black activists get tracked down and dragged out of their own homes by police, they get shot and gassed in the street by police and white supremacist civilians alike for peacefully protesting their right to not get murdered, and the media and government treat them like unlawful, immoral savages. 

but when it’s your uncle chris and his beer buddies breaking the fence and climbing into the fucking capitol with guns, there’s no riot geer. there’s no gas. there’s no coverage calling them terrorists. no, it’s a peaceful protest by a bunch of passionate patriots. this country needs to be burned to the ground.

not to be ladybug platonic/familial supremacy on main, but like, i wish they had developed rubys relationship with blake more. this one fanart (that i cannot remember for the life of me who made it but its somewhere here on tumblr) that like perfectly displays what i think their relationship couldve been.

the fanart is two images and its sort of like a projection. the first one is of blake holding a younger version of herself as a kid back, and her younger self is holding up like a protest sign yk showing her involvement in the white fang when she was young af.

the second image (or maybe it was just this image and im thinking of parts from the manga or something) is of blake, its basically the same image just switch young blake w ruby, holding ruby back like she did her younger self.

and it kinda struck a chord bc ruby is so young in comparison and i think everyone forgets that in canon. and that fanart just made me think, blake would 100% see herself in ruby. no doubt no one can change my mind. blake would see this head strong and hopeful kid leading on purpose and doing all these big things and latch on and want to protect her because she reminds her of younger blake.

crwby couldve had a gold mine and built up their relationship outside of team leader and “my gfs little sister” idk there was just a lot of potential for an even stronger family bond between rwby, but i understand why they didnt think of that because ruby already has a sister

the parallels are just nice, but also sad to think about
