Sign the petition to have her killers arrested.
The petition’s demands are simple, it includes a call to arrest the cops who murdered her and it seeks policy changes to ensure this sort of thing won’t ever happen again.
The Louisiana Metro Council has recently voted for an ordinance in Breonna Taylor’s name, “Breonna’s Law,” that bans no-knock warrants — and this sort of progress is worth noting. But, as certain politicians and law-makers have noted, the issue with these reforms is that while they are important, police officers violate these laws anyway and fail to ever be held accountable for their actions.
“You can pass certain laws, but the problem is police breaking the law. Murder is already illegal, but the officers who killed Breonna Taylor still haven’t been arrested.” — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
When police break the law and never face justice, it means the law isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Sign the petition. Hold them accountable. Send the message that this behavior will not stand ever again.
You deserve people in your life who understand you at your core. Who don’t have misconceptions about your personality or your intentions. People who not only “get you” but also care about your wellbeing and won’t betray your trust.
