Tbh, I'm significantly less concerned with people casually using the word crazy to mean busy or overwhelming or something than I am with people adopting clinical psychiatric language in an attempt to appropriate the pathologizing function of psychiatry for themselves (as in the case of people using "narcissist" to essentially mean "evil person" and diagnosing everyone in their life as a narcissist).
Everybody is anti-DSM until they want to diagnose someone they dislike with ontologically evil disorder (aka rancid bitch disease).

its always helpful imo to remember theres a cis person with whatever problem you have as a trans person 9/10 times. theres a cis man as short as you, a cis woman as tall as you, with hands and feet as big or small as yours. theres a cis woman scared to go out without shaving twice a day, theres a cis man whos upset bc he will never grow a beard. theres a cis woman who worries her infertility makes her less of a woman, and theres a cis man feeling similarly about his lack of potency. theres cis women who dilate and cis men with phalloplasty. theres a cis man scared that painting his nails will make people think hes not really a man and a cis woman whos exhausted with spending hours grooming just so people treat her like she wants to be treated as a woman. they dont put it in the terms we do but theyre worried that these problems make them inadequate at the gender they want people to see them as. our patriarchal system has made the boxes were supposed to fit into so small and you arent alone in not fitting it--nobody really fits

how about this: when i was 9 and my stepdad beat me until i passed out and i told my friends at school, my teacher over heard and i was interviewed by cps. they also went to my house when i was at school. when i got home, my step father was waiting on the couch, and told me who visited him that day. he told me if i ever snitched again he would beat me to within an inch of my life.
how about this: my mother locked me out of the house when i was 14 and when i cried so loud the neighbors called the cops, the cop told me i should have been respectful of my mother who was trying to sleep.

children in abused households are raised to fear the idea of being taken away. children in abusive households see that help makes things worse.

cpc + the cops are more invested in maintaining the social power of adults over children than they are in the wellbeing of those children.
If you know of a kid whoâs being abused, just talk to them. Ask them how they feel about calling cops/cps before you even think of touching the phone. This includes âmandatory reportingâ scenarios. Become a safe person for them to talk to about things that they donât feel safe telling anyone else because anyone else will call the cops and very likely make things worse. Be someone who can offer comfort or advice when they need it. Be safety and stability for them in a chaotic and dangerous world. You may find a point where you can offer them a way out of the abuse, but only do so with their consent. They know their situation better than you do.

Hon. No. Crackship doesn't just mean "not canon". It's difficult to imagine two people who spend significant canon time together as a crackship. Crackship is when you write Galactus getting fucked by Tony the Tiger.
