embrace the unapologetic love of media you had in middle school before everyone decided it was cringy. go rewatch the cheesy animes that you liked. go rewatch old episodes of doctor who or supernatural or whatever. reread the hunger games or percy jackson or something. wear ultra positive graphic tees that look bad. read/make group chat fanfics of series you like. its fun and cringe is dead. enjoy shit
OH MY GOD PLS
Adult realization: you will make mistakes, you will act irrationally. You will commit some wrongs that cannot be fully righted. People will dislike you and misunderstand you for all sorts of reasons. None of these make you a bad person. All you can do is try your best to be kind and just to people, grow and learn.
“and the universe said…”
ive been gone a long time;
more than three days now.
i was never a saint and im sorry,
but a lonely boy.
with a bleeding heart;
i hope i built a chapel,
with strong stone roots,
for you all to roost in.
a strange thing, to roost in roots
of a tree long gone -
more than three days now.
to wonder what you did wrong,
that you weren’t worth staying for.
and to quit the company of saints
in fear of staining
strong stone chapel floors
with your bleeding heart.
i hurt
says the little lord
and the Lady says
but i hurt more;
so the dying
little lord, kisses her cat scratches,
and wonders how one,
measures pain.
“If a person can’t get out of bed, something is making them exhausted. If a student isn’t writing papers, there’s some aspect of the assignment that they can’t do without help. If an employee misses deadlines constantly, something is making organization and deadline-meeting difficult. Even if a person is actively choosing to self-sabotage, there’s a reason for it — some fear they’re working through, some need not being met, a lack of self-esteem being expressed. People do not choose to fail or disappoint. No one wants to feel incapable, apathetic, or ineffective. If you look at a person’s action (or inaction) and see only laziness, you are missing key details. There is always an explanation. There are always barriers. Just because you can’t see them, or don’t view them as legitimate, doesn’t mean they’re not there. Look harder. Maybe you weren’t always able to look at human behavior this way. That’s okay. Now you are. Give it a try.”

— “Laziness Does Not Exist” by E Price on Medium
(And a footnote I didn’t see explicitly covered in the article: laziness still doesn’t exist when it is you yourself making no progress and not knowing why. You deserve that respect and consideration, too, even from yourself.)
Even if you don’t feel like it, you are worth it. I promise.
some of you have to learn what a real apology is
a real apology isn’t about excuses. a real apology isn’t a justification. a real apology is “i did x and it made you feel y. even if i was feeling z, it doesn’t justify the way i lashed out at/treated/etc you. you didn’t deserve that and im sorry” or SOMETHING like that but i’m sick and tired of people using their own emotional state as a barrier against taking real responsibility lol
:))
i think that you can forgive people; i think you can forgive a person, and they you, and i think that you can have well-wishes and pride for them, but i don’t think that means that you need to be friends again, or i hope you don’t.
i wish you well, and i wish for good, good things in your future, but i cannot promise a rekindled friendship because i am not keen to return to that time in memory or in company. part of my recovery was moving on regardless of the good we had (and my lack of regret for the time we spent together)
