âOoh, Director of Exhibits? Do you work at, like, an art museum, or a historical museum, or what? And even if itâs not an accomplishment to you, I think think that it is! I mean, âdirectorâ has such an official and authoritative tone to it! You must have an important job, and at least someone needs you!â He shrugged, smiling. He always found a bright side to everything. Life was too short to dwell on the negative. âBeing able to afford a house is a great feeling though. I remember when I bought my apartment with Pollo, it was the best experience in the world, even if it was a little scary at first. Iâm sure youâll be fine though!â
Clay grinned a little bit at the comment, his cheeks a flustered pink. âAw thanks! Youâre one of the few people who can stand me talking so fast for so long then. Most people think I get annoying after a while, but I canât help it. Once I start talking, I canât stop! Just how I was raised, I guess!â Technically true, but it came more as a side-effect of his raising rather than a direct result or cause-of. âAnyway, if you wanna talk more about your job or whatever else you want, Iâm all ears! I just might ask a bunch of questions, haha.â
Adrian fumbled around in her purse for a moment before unearthing a pamphlet. She then offered it to Clay and smiled. âBoth! Itâs a history museum that features art. I think a great many interesting artifacts should be considered art, actually, but then Iâd be delving deeply into theory to explain that perspective.â Something something, pictures of pipes. She found the phrasing of someone âneedingâ her rather surprising, but she did not try to correct or figure out what exactly that meant. âThanks for the encouragement! An apartment is a big responsibility, as well. Much more difficult than living with parents and/or guardians that tell you how to take care of their space.â Best to be inclusive about that just in case.
âOh, trust me. Youâre very sweet, and Iâve had to handle strange speech patterns along with poor personalities before. This isnât trying.â Sometimes she had to be thankful that she had gotten out of the entertainment industry when she had. People there could be nasty and more difficult to comprehend. The demands could be nonsensical and then worth yelling at management about. âYou can ask as many questions as you like if youâre genuinely curious. Or we could talk about our friends if thatâs easier. I have the time now, which is rather nice.â
