Open starter
Where: the park
For: Victor Hellstrom
Victor didnât actually have a home yet. Heâd gotten a job, because one of the only skills he really had was the ability to work a bar, and had been up until now simply storing his stuff at the gym, since he owned relatively little, but that wouldnât work forever: for one thing, his normally endless funds were currently running a tad low and his family wouldnât give him more money unless he could give them an address to send angry letters and packages to. It wasnât his fault his mother was angry at him, she didnât even know he was technically dead yet. And he only currently had four outfits. That wouldnât do.
He hung out in the park with a book and a pack of cigarettes most days before work, playing with the pocket watch that kept him from dying in the sun. He kept it on a chain and liked so swing it around, which was almost certainly stupid, but what the hell, turns out you didnât only live once.Â
It was raining, and he sat under a tree and smoked silently until someone ducked under the branches and dropped down, probably not even realizing he was there. âBoo.â
Robinâs biggest enemy was, as usual, time itself. Having too much of it, being so unoccupied that intrusive thoughts made their way into the forefront of his mind. Sometimes, it seemed like itâd be easier to deal with other peopleâs thoughts, drowning out his own. Maybe it had been a little bit too long since heâd last dated, but that didnât necessarily mean he should believe that voice claiming him to be utterly unlovable.
So it wasnât exactly out of the ordinary for him to take a walk outside, even while it rained, in hopes of finding someone to talk to, distract himself with. Which didnât precisely mean he was hoping for the shock of someone dropping from the trees in front of him, but he was more welcoming to it than others mightâve probably been. âOh!â he gasped, one hand going towards his chest, squinting at the man in front of him. âThatâs -- Thatâs a well-played prank, I suppose.â
The corners of his lips managed to quirk up just so, his expression slightly bewildered. âHow many others have you spooked besides me today? Is this some gang-related activity one should be made aware of?â he teased, only somewhat serious.
