Finn stood at the front of the choir room, ready to follow through with his plan. He knew he should’ve done it before now - asking Natalie to be his official girlfriend - but he also knew that now was as right a time as any. And he wanted everyone else to know. “So, I know that the assignment was to do a song about who we really are. And mine is... kind of about that. It’s more about someone who always reminds me who I am and is totally okay with it.” He glanced up at Natalie, who was sitting in the chair next to where his was. She was so pretty and looked almost... nervous? She was making that face she sometimes did when she didn’t know what Finn was going to say but she hoped it was something really good. He was determined not to disappoint. “I can be myself with her and when I’m done singing, I’m kind of hoping she’ll say yes to being my girlfriend instead of just ‘my girl.’ “
