taken 4/28/12. this one recently started getting a lot of notes again. at the time I was really proud of it but I’m not sure I’d shoot it this way now, or even post it if I did, which I guess says something profound about the self-censorship of expectations or such. those are actually water-striders making the ripples. the pretentious title is the chord changes of the song that was running in my head at the time I shot it (and for about a month before and after), but it’s also because I have been looking for a way to express my own experience of music visually. I saw the intermingling ripples as an analogue to blending overtone series. now I just take gothtastic cemetery pictures and desperately navel-gazing self portraits.
