This is a Tourettes Theo Raeken fic, that I wrote for a friend!

Liam thinks hes smart letting Theo in through his bedroom window every night without his parents knowing turns out his parents knew the whole time.

Late night snack run

It wasn’t a secret that Theo didn’t really eat much and Liam hated it but he understood why. When Theo was homeless he didn’t really have the money to buy food so he just went hungry. It was the same with the dread doctors; they often forgot to feed their test subjects unless they needed to be fed for an experiment so Theo was used to going hungry and not recognising when he was hungry. Theo genuinely forgets that food is important and the human body needs it so Liam has resorted to buying the chimera snacks to encourage him to eat more and always having some spicy ramen in the cupboards.

"Sheriff Stillinski” she spoke quietly, voice full of emotion the man still hadn’t given her any news on her son even after 8 years. The sheriff looked at the woman he had known all those years ago, the woman he had to deliver the devastating news of her daughter's death and that her son was missing and god did she look tired but her bright green eyes, the same ones that matched her son’s were so full of hope. Hope to hear some news about the son she hadn’t seen in 8 years but there was desperation in those bright green eyes desperate to hear that her baby boy was still alive and Noah felt sympathy eat away at him. He couldn’t imagine the pain the woman was in to have to bury a daughter at only 13 years old and not know if your other child was alive. It made him think of Stiles as well as Scott; the boy had become very much like a son to him. “Gracey…”

“Have you eaten yet?” Chris asked, his voice low and patient. Theo didn’t lift his eyes from the mug as he gave a small headshake. “Not really hungry.”

“Yeah.. that’s not what I asked” Chris replied calmly. The hunter knew this pattern all too well, when Theo was in a depressive episode food became optional at best as it was the one thing the coywolf could still control. 

Chris stood and moved to the cupboards without making a fuss and began pulling out bread, eggs, cinnamon and vanilla all the ingredients to make french toast a seemingly quiet favourite of Theo’s whenever the depression dug its claws in too deep. Making it had become a ritual between the two of them, no pressure, no interrogation, just care. Theo watched him work for a minute, his chest tight at the quiet domestic of it all, Chris moving around the kitchen like nothing ever happened made something sharp and ugly twist painfully inside his chest. He hated this part, the shutdown, the way he pushed everyone away even when he’s desperate. The exhausted part of him wanted them to stay close so he had someone to lean on but his disorder hardly ever cared about what he wanted and handing over vulnerability felt like pressing a loaded gun into someone else's hands and asking them to shoot him. 

“I'm sorry,” Theo muttered suddenly, the words tumbling out before he could stop them.

“Cap,” she started, voice low enough that only the two of them could hear. “Im begging you, please do something about the pair of them.” She gestured subtlety towards the weight room, where Eddie was focused on his reps, muscles straining with every controlled lift. Meanwhile Buck was pretending to work out beside him and failing miserably due to his wandering eyes locking onto the flex of Eddie’s arms and shoulders every time the bar rose. If it carried on any longer it looked like Buck might start drooling on the spot, it was anything but subtle and completely ridiculous. 

Bobby didn’t even have to look up to know what Hen was complaining about. “What would you like me to do Hen? Lock them in the bunk room with a bottle of wine and a playlist titled ‘You’re killing everyone with your pining, please hurry up and realise your feelings for each other.’?"

When the smoke clears and where left with the truth “Bullshit, im just being a good host” Brett capped the jar and leaned back against the couch, kicking his long legs up on the coffee table. “You’re late, stuck in traffic?”  “More like Liam being a little shit again, I had to stop a fight between him and Mason because Liam lost a game of Call of Duty again.” Theo rolled his eyes, kicking his shoes off at the door before walking over to the couch and dropping down onto the cushion next to the taller werewolf. Theo let out a groan shifting in his seat so his and Brett’s shoulders were touching before kicking his legs up draping them over the blonde’s. Brett chuckled, patting Theo on the head sympathetically. “Poor puppy having to fix petty fights between a sore loser and his best friend instead being here on time to get baked with his best friend. Tragic really.”  Theo shot the older boy a glare, “Don’t call me puppy” but something unusually soft flickered on his face. “Wouldn’t miss it, you know that.”

Minute Monday, Tuesday

Tracy felt lighter than she had in days under the siblings' playful teasing. The nervousness from her and Tara’s first meeting had completely evaporated, replaced by a warm, buzzing excitement every time Tara’s bright green eyes fell on her with a fond expression. Tracy leaned against the counter, leaning closer to the siblings. “You know, if you two keep bickering like this I might have to tape your mouths shut. You’re disrupting the other customers.”

Theo and Tara took a quick glance around the room, wincing at all the customers that were now staring in their direction. The siblings turned back to Tracy with guilty looks on their faces.

Theo slung his arm around the brunette’s shoulders pulling Tracy into a side hug. “We’re sorry Trace, we didn’t mean to disrupt everyone.

“Yeah you better be maybe to get you back I might make you do the closing shift alone tomorrow.” Tracy challenged.

Theo let out a playful gasp, rolling his eyes at the woman in front of him. “You wouldn’t.”

Tracy raised an eyebrow. “Don’t test me Raeken.”

Theo mock pouted but knew not to push Tracy had made him close multiple times by himself because he’d pushed her a bit too far and wound her up. “This is why you’re my favourite. You get my sass unlike my gremlin sister who’s clearly trying to steal you away with her superior charm and big adult pay checks.”

Some of my Raeken sibling headcannons

-Every year on Tara’s birthday Theo will go down to the bridge where Tara died with flowers and a cake. He’ll end up just sitting there all day talking to her because he doesn’t care that she can’t talk back. Sometimes Liam or other members of the puppy pack will go with him, but only if Theo wants them too they never push him to let them come.

-After the dread doctors took Tara’s heart and gave it to Theo they just left Tara’s body in the river. Theo went back and carried his sisters body to a secluded area in the preserve where no one would think to go or look and buried her there. So only he know where Tara is buried because he never told anyone, and he’ll probably die with that secret.

-Theo has a little metal box with a lock on it that he keeps in his truck and inside that box is things that he’s deemed valuable. Stuff Liam and the rest of the puppy pack have given him over time as well as a necklace that Tara used to wear all the time and the only photo of him and Tara he has.

-Theo only knows how to ride a skateboard because Tara was the one who taught him how.

-Theo used to get picked on a lot in school so Tara was his ultimate protector and would always stand up for him.

-Theo was a very forgetful kid so Tara was always carrying around an asthma inhaler for him if he needed it.

-whenever Theo didn’t have the best day Tara would make him french toast, it’s still a thing Theo does to this day but it never tastes the same as when Tara would make it for him.

- when Theo was homeless there used to be this black cat that would follow him around everywhere. Theo could never get her to leave him alone and eventually he grew to like the cat’s company. When Liam took him in after finding out he was homeless Theo went back and adopted the cat and named her Tara. He named her Tara as a vow to protect this Tara from any harm because he couldn’t do that before, thinking it was Tara giving him a second chance because Tara used to tell him that when she died she wanted to come back as a black cat. Liam gets annoyed because the cat favourites Theo over him.
