Big fans of Martin Bernard and Daniel Hanka’s webisode, we watched the episodes again for the first time since they dropped - thanks to the epic Smelly Socks Recap that appeared on the web at the start of week.
Only a couple days later and Martin has released this banger; the 4th episode from his new movie project ‘In Between’ which captures inspiring freeski athletes Marek Skala, Daniel Hanka, Ondrej Benes and Simon Bartik firing huge tricks off the cannon rail at Freestyle Area Vitkovice. The best of the bunch from Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the movements of this crew is set to have a huge influence on the freeski culture in their hometown’s and across the freeski community.
‘Misconceptions’
In two days the annual International Freeski Film Festival will be taking place at The Clapham Grand, London. This night is heralded for premiering the best of the freeski films ahead of the coming winter. This year is no different, with the Legs of Steel crew and the Inspired Media Team putting up they’re awe-inspiring productions in front of an audience in the UK for the first time. The line up for this Thursday night includes Perspective Studios second film ‘Misconceptions’
“Misconceptions follows an inspired group of people who see the streets and mountains in a very different light.” Titled as Misconceptions the team will show the pain, preparation and dedication that goes into the sport they love.
Misconceptions features riders from the UK Olympic team alongside the exciting rising international athletes; with Mike Rowlands, Tyler Harding, Finest Hour’s own Callum Welch and more to be announced viewers will get a glimpse into a very creative, progressive and dedicated future.
Perspective Studios has been gathering momentum over the past year, seeing founder Ross Welch embed the UK-based film production company further into the culture, change and leading influences in the British Snowsports scene. A huge achievement for Perspective Studios, we’re proud to sponsor their efforts in creating ‘Misconceptions’. The film’s correlation with the mission behind the Finest Hour brand is hugely respected and it thoroughly deserves to be part of the iF3 ‘Official Selection’

OverStoke Festival
This weekend brings a big date on this years UK Ski Calendar; the first OverStoke Festival is coming to the Stoke Dry Slope this Saturday 22nd &Sunday 23rd August.
The festival has been masterminded by Black Label Project and Snowhoes, both reputable freeski crews on the UK scene. Black Label Project is represented by some of the best UK freeski talent, so you can expect high levels of creative riding and an imaginative setup on the day. Combined with the fun and progressive attitude of Snowhoes, a group of ski and snowboard chicks who have just returned from a hugely successful season spent in Tignes, this festival is set to kick off!
Chilled jam sessions will be going on throughout the day, with prizes (including FH gear) up for grabs. Not forgetting the big sound system they’re rigging up to keep the music playing all day and into the night.

The trailer for Perspective Studios new freeski film is here, and we’re stoked that the first film Finest Hour Clothing has supported boasts some of the best up and coming British talent in the country.
Featuring FH rider Callum Welch, alongside Tyler Harding, Mike Rowlands, Hamish McDougall & Friends, Misconceptions captures the athletes dedication to their sport, and banishes the negative stereotypes that freestyle skiers can sometimes encounter by following the rider’s commitment; to face the challenges and opportunities their chosen playgrounds present each day.
The film will premiere at iF3 Film Festival at Clapham Grand on October 15th, so make sure you get down there for to catch all the best freeski film releases alongside Misconceptions this Autumn.
STK ‘Signature Session’
Tonight The Snow Centre at Hemel Hempstead will come alive with energy, creativity and top draw freestyle skiing progression, as the Ski The Kingdom boys host their first ever ‘Signature Session’!
The UK Freeski Crew have recruited Hemel Ambassadors Luke Rodgers, Ella Taylor-Tipton and Justin Taylor-Tipton to join force in creating a unique freestyle park set up for the event, and attendees can expect to have the chance to take part in an informal jam competition to win some great prizes - including some sweet Finest Hour threads. Book your ski pass for the night here.
Things kick off from 6.30pm tonight, and rumour has it you might just bump into the infamous wizards that go by the name of the ‘Real SkiFi’ too...
Waves & Pasties
The FH team has returned to Bristol following a rad week down on the Newquay coast at Boardmasters Festival. Thanks goes everyone who came down to the FH stand - the support was incredible - so a high five and big old thank you from all the Finest Hour HQ team!
The sun was shining over Fistral beach for the most part, big up to all the brave souls who were out on Wednesday enduring the classic British holiday downpour. It is no surprise Fistral beach draws and creates some of the best talent in the UK surf scene, the atmosphere, people and consistent sets that roll in form an ideal platform for surfers to progress.
Highlight’s have got be the longboard semi-finals and finals on the Sunday, bigger waves brought about a more gripping competition that saw the Delpero brothers trying to catch the best wave in the final, with Edouard coming out on top. Numerous pasties were consumed to keep energy levels up during the day, while night time always took us to the feel-good summer sounds playing out from the epic Corona Sunsets stage.

All the surf action from Boardmasters Festival in Newquay this weekend has left us wanting more, and this teaser for a View From a Blue Moon that dropped last week has left us wanting to quit the day jobs altogether.
Shot by John John Florence and Blake Vincent Kueny in association with Brain Farm, this film is the captivating final result of three years spent documenting John's 7 favourite surf spots. Innovative shots in 4k from helis and all the big bits of kit combined with the natural spirit of surfing make this an insane and gripping watch - we’re going to be grabbing the full documentary as soon as it’s released this fall.
FH Crew at Freestyle Fridays
More action from Mt.Hemel this week, where FH riders Callum Welch, Rachael Walsh and Young Gun Josh Yeo are often found sharpening up their freestyle game - this Hemel Freestyle night was no exception.
It’s pretty sweet to see 13-year-old Josh spinning 540 and going for grabs. Keep up the progression dude! Ain’t no better place to jib on a Friday night.

Check out this quick season edit of Josh Ogden - the kid that has followed the likes of Billy Morgan and Jamie Nicholls in being recognised as a Whitelines Contender earlier this year.
That’s about all the following Josh will do though, his fearless and aggressive riding style is taking him on his own route to snowboarding success. It was privilege to watch this guy rip around the Portes Du Soleil on his first season, where he often escaped the confines of park to use the whole mountain to nail some big tricks.
These few shots of Josh show what he’s capable of on a park day - we’re certain there are even bigger and better things to come next season.

Go Big or Go Home Goes BIGGER
One of the biggest events on the UK snowsport’s calendar just got even BIGGER. The annual freestyle comp at Bearsden has now extended it’s legacy to Aberdeen Snowsports Centre’s dry slope, where the second leg of the event will take place on the 1st August.
Riders are encouraged to throw down the biggest and best tricks they’ve got in their artillery, with on-the-spot prizes and focus on fun to get everyone involved. They’ll also be some good food a-cookin’ on the BBQ and some music to keep you pumped, all you need to do is sign up right here > SIGN UP.

Banoffee Pies Bro’s @ Glasto
The boys from Bristol have made it it the Bearded Kitten stage at The Common at the one and only Glastonbury this year, big up to Banoffee Pies! Their independent label has received big dollops of love over the past year, with the boys most recently making appearances at the Shambarber ‘Temple of Lust’ at Love Saves The Day, not to mention claiming Label of the Week from London Warehouse Events a few days before.
With their artists announced and Debut LP warmed up and almost hot and ready for pre-orders - you can be sure that these guys have something real good going on.

‘Finest’ Video of the Week
In an effort to stir locals and passionate riders in the UK to support the redevelopment of the famous Sheffield Ski Village, Salt-Street Productions have taken some locals back to the now derelict dryslope where they learnt to ride before it’s fiery demise in 2012. Home slope to some of Britain’s top skiers and boarders - it’s about time we get things together to return this snowsports training destination to it’s former glory.
Prepare for some sweet lines and imaginative tricks, and get behind the cause. Bring it back we say.
The Austrian Headbud Crew have teamed up with Dennis Ranalter and Fabi Hyden to create another pioneering edit in the great glacier playground of Stubai, further pushing their momentum as some of the most creative and stylish crews out there.
